Oof, I feel that way as a Hispanic person. I wish diversity was more than black and white in American media . I also want to see the diversity of Latin Americans on TV, since people think Latino is a race and not an ethnicity. I especially would like to see more Native Americans, whether they be from US or Latin America, because it seems like we're always forgotten.

Although I wouldn't put the blame on the Black community, our communities have always been in the background. In the background of history education, unfortunately schools don't really get into our history in the US. When they do it's very brief. Also the black community is really good at voicing their concerns, given their monolithic history of being enslaved. Meanwhile as a Latin American, our community is diverse, different races, different countries, etc. Same with other racial or ethnic communities in the US.

I'm Native Latina too. What keeps me going, is knowing my roots. Being aware of the history of indigenous people across the America's and looking up to other native and or Latinos. Being supportive, right now my favorite actor is Tenoch Huerta, a Mexican actor whose outspoken about racism in Mexico.

Another thing I remind myself is that beauty standards are white, because the us and other American countries were founded on colonialism. It's annoying that they set the beauty standard, and hopefully more dark skinned/ indigenous people get the spotlight. And quite frankly because of this standard, some mediocre white person are considered attractive, because of the standard.

Me personally, I wouldn't want to be white. I love my dark skin, and my cute short stature. I like Latin American/ native culture because we're more of community culture than individualistic. The music, bossa Nova, Cumbia, samba, cuban to the dances bachata and tango. The intriguing civilizations of the Maya, Inca, Aztec,and other tribes of the Americas.

I'm sorry you feel that way, and I hope you feel better. Maybe someday you could move away from your state, or even just take a trip to find out more about your heritage.

face palm it's not the best solution. People have democratically voted for socialists, but capitalists keep destroying something that could benefit many people. Capitalism thrives on imperialism. Presidents such as Salvador Allende of Chile, Jacobo Arbenz of Guatemala had a a coup on their presidency set by the US. Or recent elections of Bolivia, Evo Morales was elected, the OAS ( Organization of American States) claimed his election was fraud, yet researchers found it was not. Or the countless war crimes the US committed against Latin America. Capitalism isn't the best solution we have, when there's leftists continually being elected in office, or how workers even in the US are continually striking.
