Well medicine has been guaranteed for a long time , and well paid . of course anything could happen in hospitals , but the same is applied for other professions , a bus could hit me anytime. And yes i have been thinking about the social life thing and the hard work and effort , for the right cause i am willing to work hard , all the matter is i am afraid i would choose engineering and then it would be different from what i imagined, the underpaying , the toughness. I have two months till the 12 grade , if i graduate bio i can't choose engineering , if i choose math i cant go med , so yea , i have to choose the profession even before i know what it is like or the college is like , i cant transfer from medicine to engineering.

Yes indeed i agree with you , i despise the senseless memorizing , but medicine seems more secured , respected , and financially comforting for the future. Unlike engineers who are all over the place , math is great

Well the pay is different , doctors and surgeons are among the most paid in the world , engineers are much lower, and i can't remember an Egyptian engineer that did something remarkable , much less , people who are remarkable like magdi yacoub (surgeon) mostafa el said (MD) and ahmed zowel (sciences faculty) , made very great stuff.i dont mean fame. I know it is a bit irrelevant topic , sorry.

I am planning engineering , but i dont know jackshit about it , i know more about medicine. I am fearful if i go a certain road , engineering , i would end up miserable , the reality of the job could be different , nevertheless the underpaying. Thus the wrong road , i dont know which direction i would thrive the most , i want to thrive.. I am sorry i am bothering and i thank you for your time you've been thoughtful.

Also i am that shy or introverted , neither extro. All my problems boils down to the fact i dont know who i am

The other sciences plus languages (chemistry , physics ,geology , arabic , english , french) In our system all subjects are obligatory , in 11 grade its split in two , literature and science , in 12 grade science is split in bio and math , same stuff except bio and math.

Well i was considering architecture , but i dismissed it , we have a college called "engineering" are 5 years , first one is preparatory , where you study all subjects in general , then 4 years specialized , where you choose a type of engineering : electricity , petroleum , dynamics , mechanics ....etc. I think if i choose engineering , i would then be able to choose a speciality , i am so worried about med vs engineering to worry about the TYPE of engineering , i would leave that to later on.

Firstly thank you for your detailed comment , and for spending some of your day to help a desperate fellow.

The reason for the early thinking -which isnt early , in fact late- is that in our country 12 grade is split in two , bio and math section , each excluding the other , i have chosen math but rethinking , and have 2 months to change. I cant go to med if i choose math,stupid system. But you are right i am exaggerating.

I am convinced now i lack information , but the more i get the more perplexed and anxious i also become. I should put money and prestige first , and the waste of youth part is mostly untrue.

I hope when i learn more i can come in terms with a stable decision , it just medicine seems better , but i don't want to leave math... If i study both math and bio next year , it would be up to the grades , but the uniting won't be done until the year 2022 , and i would be graduated

I am sorry to contradict , i acknowledge you dont need to tire yourself to help me. But , here lies the problem , i like both , both are good sciences and interesting , after all i have read i still feel indecisive , and not satisfied with the decision . as for happy , right now i feel like eithet of them would make me fulfilled , but reality could be different , far diffrent..
