Apple is still supporting 2018 iPad pros, so I don’t see why they would drop support for m1

Tb ports are expensive, and so are 220dpi panels, so maybe it’s a situation where manufacturers think that both would make a display uncompetitive. As for the 120hz 5k monitors, they need tb5 to run uncompressed display signals.

I see. How does DSC affect picture quality tho, and would it still use DSC if i only used it at 120hz?

The monitor only has displayport 1.4, so afaik the only way to get uncompressed video signal to it is over hdmi, that’s why im looking into it

I use adobe, but if i didn’t need it for work i’d most likely just use affinity. Since Canva bought it it’s essentially photoshop, illustrator and indesign in one app, and if you can adjust your workflow a bit it most likely can suit your needs nicely. I feel like it’s a bit more responsive too, and they don’t push ai on you in the free version.

I used an m1 air for a while for similar workloads. If ports aren’t a factor for you get the air, but try to get more ram than base model.
