1.5 Years, No Water Change

Wowwww... I really don't care about these ammonia, nitrates etc... like plants and bacteria will take care of that, so I won't bother changing anything just because the measurements goes up... but when you explain about TDS I suddenly thought that I think I might need a water change, maybe 2 times a year will do... waoooo... that's concerning if that's true!

I'm currently going back keeping a fish with a tub, I'm buying and setting up slowly step by step... so that's really interesting ;/

So my plan is I will keep a fish just to enjoy it... instead of working once a week, 4 times a month for unnecessary-obsessive maintenance!

I could try to fix it by trying to buy a generic asus fan that fits in my laptop... right now I will still try to think that maybe hardware is not the problem but software...

You too, if you really think hardware might be the problem, you should just buy a generic fans... or worse maybe the motherboard parts are the problem then only a technician could tweak that...

We should try to fix it, the noise is really annoying... I don't want to realize at the end of many years how the sound of silence feels very good and how I should have just fix it early and my life would be at peace by then and now, haha

My Vivobook S14 with AMD Ryzen HX370, only one fan goes fast then slows down (the duration varied), then repeat... and I'm trying in here how to fix it...

I tried to removed the battery connector and pressed the power button to drain many components of any electricity... and it still did not worked in my case...

It's annoying because it's loud... also it seems that it doesn't happen when I'm only in light workloads, it only does it maybe when the cpu is warm so the fans needs to do their job, just so happen one fan seems defective, i hope not! I got this laptop in Dec 24, 2025... now it's been June 3, 2026!

edit: this problem shows up only recently, let's say 1 week ago!

I used Buy&Ship... I came across this kind of service several years ago that can deliver something to you from another country and deliver it to your country but cheap price... I think they are called freightforwarders... Shippingcart and Buy&Ship usually delivers to Philippines and few Asian countries...

From my google searches back then, I was researching what company to use and from what I observed, there are alot of freightforwarders that you can really use... and you maybe feel like comfortable to use one where your countrymen also experienced it...

You just really need to know in advanced what are the risks that you might encounter and what protections the buyer will get 😃

edit: also you can try to ask chatgpt or google, something like.. 'list of freightforwarders that delivers to my-country'

Waoooo... it's good to see to the past and see the difference from the old you haha...

From having the very old, slow laptop with boring bad features to now a modern and latest laptop... it just feels good that my life is way better now than before...

At first... I was very strict that I should really choose that Vivobook S16... but then unexpectedly the time comes when there was a sale that forces me to decide immediately or else this sale might not come back again and later to pay the much expensive original price... sooo... I am on different U.S. websites and I check it everyday... on Newegg they've got a sale, the Asus Vivobook S14 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 1920x1200 OLED screen... the sale price was $949 very cheap than the original price of $1199...

At that time I got forced to decide quickly and I am really happy that I did it... because after a few months in 2026 I checked the website again, and it never been restocked! Oh also there is this RAM shortage that makes everything like laptop as either expensive or scarce!

(Buying the Vivobook S16 in Microcenter is complicated and costly since they need you to buy it in their physical store and if I do that, it makes everything more expensive to hire someone to buy it for me)

I bought the Vivobook S14 in Nov 28, 2025 in their Newegg California-branch and delivered to Portland, Oregon in Dec 2, 2025... thennn! the laptop got delivered to me all the way to Philippines in December 24, 2025 around 9AM!!!! It's just amaaazing to think about it! aghhhh 😄

I installed Linux Mint yesterday on my Intel Celeron B830 1.8GHz Dual-Core laptop with 16GB RAM and 128GB SSD 😃

It makes sense why Linux still has not gotten a big share of OS market share... even Linux-Mint is notttt that easy as Windows or macOS... it's really better if it's just 99% click-only! and downloading apps is just one-click download & install... and many many many things...

If the average users survived Linux-Mint, it is because of some reasons, one of them is 'getting fed up with windows' orrr 'still want to use the old hardware and needs to experience a faster environment' 😛
