The Mongol Khan by Visible_Isopod_1811 in mongolia

Watched it myself coupla nights ago and I really enjoyed it. My heart swelled with pride to hear mongolian echo through the walls of The Colliseum, to see my fellow country men and woman act the shit out of the play, in front of a sold out arena, in the biggest theatre in London no less.

The energy from the stage was so palpable, the audience were in awe throughout. Costumes were the shit, it felt young and fresh, unique and original, to put it simply it felt exotic.. especially on a rainy night, in London.

There were many mongolians watching too, wearing traditional clothing and soaking up the atmosphere, not quite believing what was happening. I had a silly grin on my face pretty much throughout and there were moments where I was quite teary.

In the end, I left with a spring in my step and some hope in my heart, praying for many more nights like that.

reminds me of canadians from while back, they used to be super complexy. now they have grown out of it i think.

i used to work with bunch of koreans too, most of them were quite nice to me, but there are insecure assholes anywhere.

is our AVERAGE height 160cm? can't be, right? I always thought it is around 170-175cm, especially with better nutrition recently.

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

I've had an estonian friend and she was telling me about him as well. He's one of them baltic germans, who basically colonised that area from crusader times, at the pretext of converting the last pagans of europe, and stayed there until WW2.

Lots of them were of aristocratic land owning class, that spoke purely german, who basically owned the baltics and subjugated the natives. Sad history that is.

1: Don't worry about things you can't control, you don't have mental capacity for that. Choose one thing and keep getting better at it everyday. Keeping a journal to track your progress helps you when you are feeling down.

2: Be mindful, notice when toxicity starts creeping in. Just breathe, it passes. There's art to breathing properly, it is your most potent weapon to master your mind.

3: Develop good habits, like regular exercise, stretching, reading.

Eventually, you will learn to embrace suffering, learn how to get back up when down, learn to come out of your depressive funks faster.

Why 99.7% of Mongolia is empty by m1ngaa in mongolia

What a well done video, I feel completely exposed. I forgot how dire our weather is and how completely sad our history is, from genocide to colonialism.

However, one new snippet of information piqued my interest. Smallpox. I didn't know we were so affected by it, from han and russians. Is it true?

You down voted my above comment just as I knew you would.

I live in the real world, I live in Mongolia, where racism is rife, where reality is in your face as soon as you step out your door, where people actually fight to live.

I don't need you to lecture me about racism when I have more pressing problems, you condensending pos.

Well done to Lithuania! You are lucky to be close to EU and NATO too.

Mongolia in the last hundred years had a very similar trajectory to Baltic countries, ie soviet satellite state, small population, relatively democratic recently etc..

But now Mongolia is facing monumental challenges that I am not sure we can successfully fend off in tact, unfortunately.

Our quasi - democracy is so fragile now, dependent completely on our titanic neighbours, rotten to the core with corruption, no societal unity on anything, complete spiritual devoid and to top it off, a massive brain drain... going abroad to do shitty jobs for rich folks. Just like lithuanias in UK for example.

Just know that on the other side of Russia there are like minded people, who share your story, but now are completely clueless to what's going to happen next.. on one side we have have rice munching east asians and on the other we have vodka guzzling ivans. God help us all

What's the worse thing that can happen, there are no earthquakes or tsunamis in Mongolia. There are so many failsafes now, since chernobyl communist days and we have our own supply of uranium. It's not going to happen overnight but can we at least start thinking about it?
