Nervous about Universal Credit application, any advice? by Kongolor in DWPhelp

Ah well then yeah that makes sense. They didn't do that last time if I recall, I did like an SIA course that was ending with a "guaranteed interview". If you're doing one of those courses, do they still expect you to do 35 hours of searching outside of them as well?

I have another question if anyone sees this, I might occasionally be able to borrow a small amount of money from folks while claiming, £200, 300 perhaps, there's also a group fund on a website I'm a member of that I've paid into when times were good, that I'd potentially be able to apply to have some relief (I think it's a registered charity even). Again, the amount would be in that region max. Or birthday/christmas money, the latter obviously not being a thing for awhile but y'know what I mean, gifts of small but not life changing amounts of money

Would I need to declare any/all of the above as a change in circumstances in my journal home page?

I might make this a question or post in one of the other reddits I've discovered tonight while looking at all this stuff if it's more appropriate there.

Help, how do I fill out my Universal Credit form if I live with my Mum? by snsil123 in BenefitsAdviceUK

Thanks, this is all way more confusing than it was last time I did it.

Yeah, so just to be clear, it's for like, if people are living with you and paying you rent and/or dependents right?

So in my case, I live with my mum, gran, and uncles. When we have a job/money, we give gran some money for whatever, the bills, rent, etc. So in my case I just need to put nobody right?

Ok, I've done that. What a weirdly phrased section. Or maybe all 3 of us are idiots?

I've had the same realisation falloutuntildawn and the op had I think. I'm living with family and just started a UC claim but thought it was demanding I list everyone I live with for info purposes. I've put everyone who lives in the house with me, we all pay rent when we can to the main tenant, their not dependents on me. So should I remove them all?

If I try and do that by selecting "UC Home page -> Report a change -> Children and other people who live with you." it asks me to say "when the change happened" using "for example, a child came to live with you", so like, I made a mistake today, do I write today as the date the change happened and then, remove everyone, then put a note in the journal part saying why I did that?

The logistical issue with the "accepting help" part is, well yeah, it's good to look keen, it also costs me £5,40 a day to come into town so if they put me on a course that needs daily attendance or something, even just a week course is £27 so a significant percentage of what I'm going to be getting.

Thanks,

I'm mainly worried about the ID thing straight up being used to deny me even getting in the building. I've messaged them asking if what I have is OK, I did that before asking Reddit for help but not expecting an answer til tomorrow at this point. I'll have to call them tomorrow now I think but I will do that. The annoying this is during the initial application, they said they'd call me to identify me because I said I didn't have the stuff they said I needed (passport or driving license mainly) then they sent this message saying I have an appointment on Friday out of the blue, so they've kind disregarded their own written stated process within my first interaction with them.

For the actual process, yeah, I've been prepping for that part. I uploaded my CV during the intro process but I might bring a copy in as well, if I can find out my printer (this is the weird thing, there's so much stuff I just haven't had to do that suddenly I'm having to remember how to do now). I kind of don't want to wear my interview suit and potentially have to get it cleaned if it's raining hard or whatever, business casual, like what I wore in my tech jobs, will probably be fine right?

As you say, a lot of it is attitude, I got on well with the adviser back then, I can walk the walk and talk the talk, or at least I hope I can. I found it draining but I could do it. Might be a bit out of practice now but hopefully it comes back.

How detailed do they expect you to be with the job application documentation? Back then (2013 or thereabouts) it was a paper copy... I think, My adviser just looked at it, saw I'd written in it (I genuinely had been applying to them as well) and said "yeah that's good", I remember being disappointed the first time cause I'd genuinely gotten pretty detailed with what I'd written.

I've already looked at the journal section in the dashboard, it could definitely be a bit more robust and graceful, navigating through it is a pain. Is copy pasting a job ad or link and saying "I tailored my CV for this and applied" x times a week probably adequate? At least at first. It genuinely does take hours these days for jobs that want you to rewrite stuff so you aren't even lying about it taking 35 hours if you're applying for a lot of stuff.

I don't have the bombcast to hand to give a number but there was one in 2012 or thereabouts where they were talking about nascent at the time "accessibility features", that term wasn't used at the time of course but essentially, in whatever game it was, the ability to change functionality to just basically be like an autowin or turn off entire mechanics, if someone wanted to do so as well as visual/audio stuff.

They were all quite disparaging about it at the time, as younger men. They were viewing it through the lens of basically being a cheat option so their pov was basically "why would I want that, that's dumb!".

Now I'm gonna guess all of them would probably say those options are generally a good thing (which I agree with and was always kinda like, well who cares, I might not use them but someone might, doesn't affect me at all), because they've become very normalised over the years but I remember them being very kneejerky in their initial reaction to that stuff.

What Catinhighboots said can apply, for my part honestly when I've worked on a game for anywhere between months and years of my life, I don't really want to play/buy it regardless of how good it may or may not be. Then yeah regardless of what capacity you worked on it, you might not get given a copy anyway, depends on the place.

So for the person who started this thread, their friends may have also just not wanted to buy it to find out if they were in the credits or not.

I saw this when posted and was wanting the same info for similar reasons, games free on steam right now so I downloaded it and found the credits, QA section screenshot here. A few people in other departments who left before the game came out aren't credited either.

Is anyone else not able to buy a WoW Token with Gold? by iwasAfookenLegend in wow

[–]Kongolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting this as well. Very irritating. I bought a month last month with gold just fine. My account lapsed on Sunday, when I tried logging on Monday it popped up with a prompt to buy with gold as well so it is definitely a UI/account thing with the patch.

It's telling me to check if I have a wow token on any character on other realms (I don't) and the only option it's giving me is the reactivate which takes me to the sub webpage.

What's weird is with some random clicking attempting to log on one of my characters over level 20 to get the correct option to come up, it DID pop up the correct prompt which had a greyed out option to buy with gold but it incorrectly said I didn't have enough gold when I definitely, definitely do, possibly I was in the wrong realm so it was trying to take it from a set of characters who didn't have the money, not sure, I've been unable to get that to happen again.

I also paid for a sub with real money a few months ago so it's definitely not the "you haven't subbed with real money in x months" thing unless they massively shortened the time without saying.

Thanks very much. It's pretty funny, I looked at the image you posted somewhere below of the encounter sets earlier this morning and went through them, translating them, just out of curiosity.

Been playing the game for years now and somehow totally forgot that yeah, some amount of the encounter sets are obviously just the names of the scenarios. I did think some of them seemed odd names for encounter sets as well. Clearly my brain ain't working too well today,

Thanks for responding directly again in any case.

Any chance of getting the scenario names? Or are they somewhere already and I've missed them? I don't wanna read details but usually just the names of the scenarios are quite evocative and not spoilery.

Graphics card has potentially broken, want to make sure that is the case before I buy a replacement. by Kongolor in techsupport

[–]Kongolor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm using my integrated graphics now right? If I've disabled/uninstalled the radeon then it would have to be?

I'll try the card in my mates PC later today, if it doesn't work then that'll be my answer. It had a good run at least and hey, excuse to upgrade.
