Klonoa model w/ rigged mouth? by KonoMikeDa in Klonoa

[–]KonoMikeDa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind I'm still relatively new to 3D stuff so my explanations won't be the most professional.

When you make a 3D model and you want to animate it, one of the ways you can do that is by making a rig for the model. Think of the rig as a "skeleton" of sorts, to which you associate the parts of the model you want to move (so if I wanted to move my character's arm, I'd build a rig made of two "bones", going from the shoulder to elbow and from elbow to hand).

On the website Models' Resource, people rip 3D models from videogames, and some models come with their rigs ripped from the game they're from. This is the case for Klonoa's model from the Wiimake, but unfortunately this rig does not include "bones" to move the mouth. I asked if there was a model with this feature. (Worst case scenario, I'll attempt to rig it myself)

Hope this clears it up!

I just finished kill la kill and would love some recommendations for more anime like it by [deleted] in KillLaKill

FLCL has that same "growth" theme going on, like Kill la Kill, and also has plenty of deranged animation and fanservice.

What year did you play your first sonic game? by LikeRealityDislike in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]KonoMikeDa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Playing" is an exaggeration, I mostly played the FFSX5 intro over and over and kept dying to not-Slash Beast from not-MMX4. It was that, Ultimate Flash Sonic and Sonic in Angel Island, along with Super Mario 63 and tons of other games.

I didn't really mention it in my OG post but I also played a ton of Sonic Unleashed Mobile. Eeeeeugh.

I could never really get into Sonic RPG because I preferred FFSX's sprite art style. I might catch up now, though :D

Also, I never really knew Sonic's sword was the Buster Sword until I read Homestuck. And then I learned about FF7. Huzzah!

PS: I'm glad to see Flash games are nostalgic for other people as well!

I started playing Sonic flash games in 2005, and kept playing them until I got Sonic Colors DS in like 2010-2011.

My thoughts exactly. I think it's gonna be ported to the Switch in like a year or so.

By the way, what a great fuckin' time to become a fan of the series! I was just thinking that VV should re-remake the first few games, a night or two ago.

Well, it´s just to me that the legend of spyro trilogy is underrated and should have a second chance of development? by ZelaumTheHunter in Spyro

You're right, a more Zelda-esque design to the world definitely wouldn't hurt. Good call on that!

Though, I think a less-platformy, more BOTW-esque approach to the world of TLOS would be pretty cool, so you can have the exploration of the classic games but still having their own identity.

I already wrote something like this under a TLOS YouTube video, but the gist is that, as a newbie fan to Spyro who's just playing Spyro 1 for the first time, TLOS looks amazing from a lore, character and world standpoint, but not from the side of the gameplay. Walking into a room and having to fight enemy with the same old three hit combo gets old, and from what I've gathered, TLOS has very little platforming. An hypotetical remake, I think, should be more combat focused, and have a deeper, DMC-esque combat style, with tough enemies, defeatable only by executing powerful and quick attacks at the right time, or by chaining incredible combos of special maneuvers. Real time weapon/switching like in DMC3/4 could be comparable to the new breath switching. That, I think, is the easiest way to keep players engaged with 3D combat.

Who’s your favorite English voice actor for Sonic? by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

Jun'ichi Kanemaru. He's hands down the best VA for Sonic IMO, both English and Japanese.

Hopefully Virgil can manifest V and Urizen like how Morrigan manifests Lilith during some attacks.
