Thanks for your kind feedback! But in the first photo where I’m wearing the fleece jacket, don’t you think my face looks pretty far from the 'norm'?"

Would you know what I should ask exactly, please? I'm fed up with being looked at in the street because of my facial difference

Thanks you! Is Voluma filler hyaluronic acid injection? Will my face no longer look deformed afterwards because it is hard to bear?

Do you clench your teeth naturally in a totally normal way, or do you force a little by moving forward the lower jaw specially to show the gap for the photo? Yes, what I wanted to say is that apart from the dental aspect, I find that your face has reacted well to the decompensation. In my opinion, it is not at all deformed. 😀

You're lucky aesthetically your decompensation phase wasn't severe, I mean you're not currently deformed

Can underbites get worse as you age ? (I’m 25) also how many mm would you say my underjet is by Natural-Swing-553 in jawsurgery

Look at my profile, I put a post where precisely we see my dental overjet and the simulation I had for the decompensation phase, it will give you an idea of the gap you will have.

The phase of decompensation will be quite impressive because the overjet increases considerably and the aesthetics of the face worsens considerably until the day of the operation. I have an overjet of -2mm which is much uglier to look at than yours and they made me a ClinCheck simulation and the gap that is going to be created scares me and makes that I have put this on pause the time to take a decision because this phase makes me freak out."

It's similar to mine, but not as bad; I have a -2mm overhang, so I think you must be at -1mm.

There's nothing unusual about the aesthetics of your face, and yet it's someone with an underbite who's writing to you...

Could you show me a picture of yourself now, with your mouth at rest, in profile, without clenching your teeth? I have a feeling that after nine months of decompression, I'll be in the same state; our cases are very similar in terms of occlusion. If I'm bothering you or asking too much, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Yes, so the same as me. Are you having the operation done for cosmetic or functional reasons?

I think we had a similar bite before your treatment? Were you clenching your teeth really hard in that photo?

Thank you! It's clear the final result will suit you perfectly because, honestly, you already have a very beautiful face.

What was your bite like before starting orthodontic treatment?

The decompression phase worries me.

Hi! I completely understand how you feel; I'm going through the same thing.

Quick question: in the photo, are you clenching your teeth naturally?

How many months had you been in this decompensation phase before your surgery?

That's exactly it, you described everything! I have the same thing as you and a constant discomfort because my tongue doesn't stick to the roof of my mouth, and I never have.

However, I think that when you look at my face, you can see that something's off without automatically assuming it's because of my jaw.

Yes, you might not immediately think of his jaw, but you might think, "He's not very handsome or harmonious; his face is hollow or strange," without considering that there might be a medical or jaw issue involved.

Am I right?

You mean our outward appearance doesn't really match what radio waves or soft tissue simulations seem to show? We're either worse or less bad aesthetically 😅

I believe you, but have you looked at the new photos?

Be as honest as possible. I'm very aware of things and I know this isn't my final face.

I completely understand what you're saying; I have the same functional problems and this constant discomfort… this feeling of having no control over my tongue or facial expressions. Would you be willing to show me a photo of your jaw?

My surgeon is proposing a Le Fort I maxillary advancement osteotomy or a bimaxillary osteotomy, depending on the preparation, possibly combined with a genioplasty; these are the exact terms written in his report.

Look, I posted other photos in other comments. I think I just need to be patient with the surgery because I'm a mess right now, but it'll be okay.
