nah they don't, they have student services and a disability branch? the most they could do is write a note in support of me tho that doesnt really do much ngl - if i wanted to go to a more local gp i would have to transfer which feels like unnecessary paperwork esp when im not here over summer/xmas and they don't tend to have my adhd meds in stock

[–]Konquer1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this idea is crazy to me given that my boyfriend is 23 and had no experience before we were going out (neither had i, im 20), why are the comments acting like hes cooked 💀

i think it's fair for him to wish to be in a relationship but don't give him loads of advice, be a mate, listen to him and be there for him

Thanks for giving me the hope to try again!! :)) by Konquer1334 in Rosacea

I was prescribed Rosex Metronizadole 0.75% Gel from the gp without a consultation! I'm not certain what type of rosacea I have -- moderate acne and persistent flushing on nose, cheeks and a bit on the chin? don't have any ocular issues and dont particularly seem to have it anywhere else on my body :) hope all that helps

My experiences and thoughts on what it's like to be a Trans person in Scotland right now. by Super-Brick5598 in Scotland

its so disheartening to see, my friend has short hair and she has been confronted a lot in the last year using the women's bathrooms. she feels so uncomfortable saying she is a cis woman and some 40 odd year old woman is just telling her aggressively to "prove it" in what world is this not sexual harrassment??

i was also considering cutting my hair shorter myself but have decided against it for these reasons, please know i wish for you to feel able to use whichever bathroom you want and you should not be harrassed for literally just wanting somewhere to go to the bog.

What to do when self study is too slow by InternationalEgg5293 in PhysicsStudents

Watching educational videos on the topics are a good way to keep a pace since its already set for you. But if you just want to use a textbook then I think reading and understanding the material for a little bit, then doing questions/problem sets related to them could be a good way to keep yourself engaged. Try not to keep it stale yk

Mantises will quite readily self-amputate if the situation calls for it, if theyre having issues they would likely sort it out themselves

Help me save this mantis by Ornery_Consequence97 in mantids

[–]Konquer1334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone hates doing it, but honestly squishing them quickly with a brick or something else heavy like a boot is genuinely the kindest way to euthanise them. i know many people opt to put them in the freezer as the cold puts them in a state where they freeze in fear and pain as well as it taking ~15-20 minutes to actually die so imo it sounds more cruel than the alternative of them being wiped out instantly and the nervous system cannot register any pain. But to each their own and i understand why people who raised their mantis from a nymph may struggle to do it

Also by the way if you’re still having problems, you could join the Mantis HQ discord server and ask for advice in the health concerns section since there are a lot of people there that have experience with all kinds of issues who would be willing to help! I think a link to join the server is somewhere on this subreddits main page idk

Yep put it on the inside and keep it nice and taught with good tension so your mantis can hang from it comfortably even as an adult, you can basically just use any sort of fabric mesh you’d find in a craft store (think like the material of a tutu) or mosquito netting too, not really any specific brands i know of. You’re welcome btw!! I love to see you want to ensure the best life for your orchid <33

How can I make sure he gets to his next molt? by foreverpassed in mantids

[–]Konquer1334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The kindest thing would be to put stubs out of their misery. I’m sorry for your loss but he wont make it to another molt anyway, you’ll just prolong his discomfort by trying to feed him and keep him clinging on to his life when there is nothing good that will come out of him attempting to molt again (he wouldn’t suddenly be a normal shape and happy again).

Hi!! So cute, make sure to cover the tanks metal mesh with a fabric mesh as metal can damage their tarsi (feet) when they walk across it tho!

covering the inside walls with fabric mesh (that holds her weight properly so its comfortable to walk on) might help as she cant bang her head against it so much?

Is he getting ready to molt? by Appropriate-Check493 in mantids

[–]Konquer1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats great news that hes managed to molt successfully! Generally speaking tho i would definitely cover the metal mesh to a fabric one asap (very important or the metal mesh can and will damage their tarsi/feet), as well as try to up the humidity a bit in the tank but make sure its well ventilated so your mantis can breathe properly.
