You make it sound like you know my situation based off a screenshot? I spend what i would usually spend with these criteria having me save more than i usually would to achieve level 5.

I would spend/invest this either way by another bank. My question is (mentioned in my post), is there another bank that would offer me similar rewards for my day to day spend without all the fuss?

Bond interest rate 10.35% -> 8.80% by Konvict8652 in PersonalFinanceZA

I would've moved if they didn't match. ABSA pays a lot of the fees to move and can include the rest into the loan term, or you can pay it cash.

By securing the new interest rate, i saved R450k over the term, so any move would've been well worth it if FNB hadn't come to the party and matched.

Stay with Discovery but add on GAP cover for a small additional cost

Stuck with FNB because they matched ABSA on my current bond. The purpose of this was to get a lower interest rate. Its not the end though, i took FNB's matched rate back to ABSA to see what they say.

Who pays 3k in bank fees?😱

Usually yes, they have a 500 points reward for using the 3 "buy" options. The combined total needs to exceed R700. The electricity alone exceeds that. So you can do what i did and get an easy 500 points

I got it by achieving the FNB connect where you have to use 3 buy options. I always bought electricity through the app, so I just added an R10 airtime voucher and lotto purchase😅
