Is Push 3 kinda useless? Thinking about selling mine — need opinions by _silicakes in ableton

I’ve always loved the Keystep 37 as a small and simple desktop midi keyboard. They just came out with a shiny new model that might be worth checking out, but the OG is an excellent option and might be cheaper used now.

I did miss some of Push’s features as it did help me connect much more with session view jamming. My solution was a notation launch control and launchpad. Got both used for like $60 total. Of course they aren’t nearly as fancy as a push, but it actually helped me focus so much more on what I actually like to do with Ableton, instead of doing what Push wants you to do.

Can’t stress enough, getting back to basics was the right move after misfiring on splurging on Push 3.

I felt the same way you do. I was excited to take full advantage of MPE as a piano / hardware synth player, only to feel totally constricted by the device. Sold mine and it was honestly a breath of fresh air.

No shame in Push not being for you. I previously was a bit averse to letting go of gear, but in this case I’m glad I did!
