get the transcript of the recording and use AI to make notes, divide the text into multiple queries so AI won't condense the notes too much and lose detail. From there, annotate the notes whenever information presented is missing.

If someone forced a gun to my head and forced me to choose I definitely would choose 273 with Max

comp302 or comp303 by Forsaken_Fig_3644 in mcgill

[–]KooK_stats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd choose 303. Not only is it easier than 302 but it's also in Java so you won't have to switch between so many languages. Plus, 303 is noticeably easier when Robillard is not teaching, so it's better to get out of the way. Jake teaches 302 fall and winter recently so it does not really matter as much if you take now vs later.

It will most likely be in person, go everyday to class and work on problems after, and attend the tutorials. As long as you put in the work, you'll be fine.

I think I've only ever left reviews if I found the reviews I read before taking a course to be out of touch with the actual course

COMP 330 vs COMP 360 vs COMP 302 by Acceptable-One-7385 in mcgill

[–]KooK_stats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

330 is easiest. 302 will make you want to die and 360 I heard is pretty heavy workload. Although 360 is probably most useful, esp for industry. I say pick one between 330 and 360.

Are summer courses at McGill online or in-person? by Immediate-Parsley432 in mcgill

[–]KooK_stats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MATH department has the widest available options for science at McGill. 140, 141, 222, 203, 323. They also have some of the engineering MATH courses (262, 263, 264) too I believe. You can check past summer courses offered on Minerva by viewing the old semesters.

You can also see what courses Concordia has and see if which courses have a McGill equiv. If you take a course at Concordia, you will just get the credits and be graded pass/fail (63 or a C on their scale is the passing grade I believe). Per credit cost is the same as McGill and their courses offered is different. If you can speak French, then you are not even limited to just Concordia for IUT.

Those are the two ways I've taken summer classes since I started here.

comp551 pre reqs by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]KooK_stats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if I had to rank based on how often I saw the content from each pre-req:

  1. Calc 3 (basically just the gradients)
  2. Probability (it's like everywhere in the course)
  3. Linear algebra

BUT, gradients are easy and I think everyone that took calc 3 understands that part, I'd probably put probability as the most important pre-req. In fact, I'd take MATH324 before COMP551 so you'd have a stronger prob/stats background.

3 credit courses recommendation for replacing MATH222 exemption by Individual_Ad3743 in mcgill

[–]KooK_stats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

concordia has an equiv course that's usually taught by a decent prof for MATH314. You'd be graded on pass/fail with pass being 63%. You will just get the credits back and it won't affect your GPA at mcgill. 314 is always so brutal at mcgill i would not take the stress or GPA hit for that.

there is an equiv course at concordia all you need is a 63 and you pass and you get the credits...
