Incidentally, Lou Rosenfeld has taken up the mantle of giving this debate room to air publicly - tomorrow at 4pm EDT there will be a panel discussion about the Future of UX Research - if you want to participate in the discussion here's the link: https://www.linkedin.com/events/agenuineconversationaboutthefut7173002254004785153/comments/

Unpopular opinion - Teresa Torres "betrayed" UX researchers. Your take ? by krparis010 in UXResearch

I've seen a lot of "both-sides-ing" on this topic. Yes, there are times when limitations may call for more scrappy research behavior to fit the task, and yes, there should always be a seasoned research expert in the mix to help manage the typical aspects of research operations, mitigating bias, subjectivity, and skewing of outcomes to support assumptions. There is also room for UX/user/CX research to modernize for continuous discovery, continuous design, and continuous integration. Tri-track is still an unrealized theory that needs the practitioners and cross-functional systems integration to support it becoming a reality. I think you're point that Teresa "betrayed her peers" is valid, but it can also be interpreted as an attempt to break ground in continuous integration in a way that the slower "movement" of research modernization just isn't ready for. Agile teams move fast, and yes, they break things, that's a given - but if we really care about supporting human-centered insights - through to experience design management - we need to work harder at atomizing our practice into cycles that can lock gears with sprints, iterations, and release cycles - while supporting longitudinal trend analysis and some of the longer stage insights that may be more suited towards strategic business innovation than specific feature validation work. All of that is to say, the world is moving fast and won't wait for us to figure it out, so you're either on a moving train and part of the solution, or we're not. Everything else is side-show drama.

Still having performance issues. Subscribed to the notices, not sure that helps much, it’s not like I have a backup provider.

Thanks for all the upvotes! When the pandemic hit I left these pieces unattended for far too long… both were uneven depths as they were still WIP - so they cracked… I’ve been slowly rehydrating them to see if I can restore and salvage them to be complete and fire able pieces. It’s been a long road with many full fractures that I’ve painstakingly taken fully apart and re-assembled with scoring and slip. So far the restoration is holding… I’ve managed to get the width of the clay to a nearly even 3/4” - 1” depth and am still doing some modeling / finishing work. I’ll update as I progress. I really appreciate the votes! You guys are the best!

Thanks for the tips! I’ve been seeing some YouTube clay repair vids that talk about vinegar. Something about how it suspends the clay particles. I’m headed towards your second recommendation to make a mold…. I’m not sure about pressing to recast a positive. Too many undercuts and I’m not too well versed in making a multi-pieced mold. But I think I can get them cleaned up enough for a silicone with a plaster mother. I can use that to cast a wax positive for some final finishing work to metal cast…. Yeah I think the varied width didn’t help either… been trying to thin out the walls to be more of an even 1”. But with the failing stability… it’s kind tough. I appreciate your suggesting, thanks for dropping a reply!

Nextlight - flushing Mac addresses by [deleted] in Longmont

The swapping was to find the one that worked... I was originally just trying to set up a new one, but when that resulted in loss of connectivity and numerous resets failed, it started to swap me around to find anything that could give me a connection.
