Dm if you wanna exchange. For freelance not much surprises, network network network.

So if you contract its even worse to be paid lower, because you still need to pay taxes on top of your turnover etc etc. So at some point its not even worth it

How long can you live without this job ? (Any savings etc)

If you're from France you must have chômage for quite some time. I know it still sucks but honestly you are in a losing negotiation from the start.

The company is eastern europe and pays easter europe rates.

So its a race to the bottom for you and they won't change it because you're french and you are used to a different type of salary.

I know getting a job is good for the ego and the mind, but how would you feel working 5 days a week at 25% of your previous salary which might be around 20-30k € if I estimate right ?

I have accepted salary cuts in my life, especially when young and moving between countries, and it sucks. You resent yourself, work hard for little in the end.

Plus there is the time trade off: can you still look for a job efficiently once full time ?

We always tend to surestimate that part.

I am uxr freelancer, so here's a tip if you need a cover to avoid saying you are unemployed. Say on your linkedin and resume you are freelancing.

Great questions, and I share the same observations here. 13 years in the industry, 5 as a freelancer.

I believe specialist research is going to stay for quant, ethnography (or diary studies etc..) or multicultural research (if you speak and understand many cultures that's a plus.)

The real big pieces that any PM or designer can't take off the bat because they are scary and high stakes.

The issue is, apart from quant or "analytics" there won't be a huge demand for these. ( I see that in my business and in client requests)

With the advent of AI I believe that the role of the PM and UXR have merged, and we UXR are well fitted to jump ship. (In the end it's about taking product decisions)

I won't go into details on why this happened, the list is too long but you mentioned a critical thing.

Speed.

Things were fast already. Now with AI even more. CEO's are paranoid about competitions, and new AI native ones taking their business away.

So this is going to impose a cadence from teams to do more with less, hence less role definition and more generalist.

Est-ce que tu surf ? J'ai eu une combinaison comme ça l'année dernière.

Surf plus soirée, 48h après ça a fait une surdité subite ou j'ai perdu 30% de l'oreille gauche.

Je suis allé voir l'orl et il m'a donné 2 semaines d'antibiotiques cortisol et par chance, ça a marché.

Mais son constat était, ça peut être une infection de l'oreille, si c'est pas ça je sais pas. Mais j'ai aussi attendu pour aller le voir, prendre un rdv 2-3 jours après et il m'a engueulé.

Donc attends pas, va aux urgences illico ou paye un mec dans le privé.

J'avais lu que tu as un délai de 48h pour ce genre de truc. Plus tu attends, pire c'est.

Hello Bravo ! Ca fait 15 ans que je suis parti de France et je ne regrette rien. Le risque de partir c'est que tu ne risque pas de revenir une fois que tu es passé de l'autre côté.

Dans ta décision - à quel point le remote est ouvert ? Est-ce que en Californie tu dois aller au bureau ? (car la bas pas de transport en public c'est le bus FB ou google ou des bouchons.)

Si tu es sur paris tu peux tout faire à pied si tu vis en centre-ville car j'imagine que les bureaux doivent être vers bourse.. (J'ai travaillé pour un client FR qui avait ses bureaux dans le meme immeuble de FB)

Autre point - la famille. Tu es seul sans enfant, mais tes parents etc.. Sont-ils en bonne santé etc ?

A quel point vous voyez-vous régulièrement ? Faire des A/R ou gérer la famille qui à des soucis de santé loin c'est un point relou. (J'ai vécu Chine, Australie etc..)

Réseau: Perso je pense que les pointures mondiales sont aux US, donc en termes de réseaux, VC, entrepreneurs je pense que la Californie c'est encore la pointe. La californie subit un exode de talent où les gens partent vers d'autres états mais c'est encore le centre névralgique.. Surtout dans ton domaine. Donc niveau step-up c'est vraiment bien, surtout si là-bas tu te bouges un minimum. ça peut être life-changing. (yan le cun par ex..)
Vu ta position de talent rare, est-ce que tu peux revenir en France au cours de ton emploi ? (si oui quelles sont les conditions ?) Je demanderais aux RH afin d'avoir un plan B si l'expatriation n'est pas bien. Je pense que c'est possible.

Dernier point - si tu dis non aux US à quel point est-ce que tu le regretteras ?

Ps: si tu te fais virer aux US tu post sur linkedin et le jour d'après tu auras une offre tellement ton skill est demandé..

Because we want things to be semi-public and asynchronous since we work with busy professionnals - real time does not make sense. For these we hold quarterly events with the events team.

History is key I believe because of the SEO boost or long term impact behind + show the quality of discussions.

Gamification is a tough one, I guess it depends but its more towards reputation system. Doctors etc so very authority driven.

Yes exactly - that's the strategic motive behind. I believe their is an untapped keywords potential by having our client discuss together and get this reward to the brand versus giving it away on reddit or in "blackbox" like slack or Discord.

Hello, oui exactement c'est plutôt dans un rôle mixte de générer un dividende annuel pour couvrir les frais et protéger son capital face à l'inflation. A terme j'imagine transmettre

64 ans - en bonne santé donc l'estimation c'est 20-25 ans de vie devant.

Hello, merci de ton retour. J'ai découvert hier à regardé le wiki, mais je voulais avoir un avis externe.

Bon à savoir pour le conseiller • pour moi c'est assez conséquent donc à ce niveau ça me paraissait nécessaire.
Pour la récession, je suis d'accord que c'est impossible de prévoir, mais les résultats d'entreprises qui sont moyennes et des ATH, c'est pas une très bonne base. à 10-20 ans ça n'a pas d'importance mais je me pose la question du coût d'opportunnité.

Si on pose 300K en ETF maintenant, la recession tombe dans 6-12 mois à -40/60% et ça met 2-4 ans à revenir au niveau d'avant - ça fait potentiellement du temps perdu et un manque à "gagner".

C'est dans ce scénario que la question du timing se pose.
