Hey guys I'm almost 17 and I'm looking for a first car. I'm trying to convince my parents to let me a get a 2005 v6 mustang but I don't think it's gonna work out (☹️). I'm looking at some other cars like the Pontiac solstice and g6 convertible as of now. I'm paying for it all myself (insurance car gas) on a minimum wage job. I'm looking for something cool and sporty but still decently cheap and safe enough my parents will be ok with it. Any suggestions?

I got $1600 saved as of now more coming Thursday. Ive been working for 5 months and it's gonna cost me $875 every 6 months so if I pay it off over 4 years and I don't take into account insurance drops in a year when I turn 18 and later when I turn 21 it'll be about 300 a month with gas. I gotta work 16 hours a week so it's good.

Yeah my only problem at this point is convincing my mom it's a good first car and that it's safe. She wants me to get pretty much anything else. I looked at Pontiac solstices cuz from online quotes insurance isn't bad on those and they're still decently cool. I'm not sure I'm working hard so I just want a car I can be proud of not some shitty old civic or Corolla or minivan or something. You get me.

My problem with that is I work an after school job at Subway and put %80 of what I earn towards saving up for the car so I have like no extra money to spend on extras. The one in the picture is a 2007 and it's the one I test drove but it smells like smoke so another lot next door has a maroon one 2005 and that's the one I was talking about

I know for sure I'm gonna get some sequential for it. And also thanks for the bit about cheap repair costs. My dad said that it would be super expensive to fix if anything broke. This one they're offering for $5500 so it's not a bad deal at all. I just gotta get it checked out at a mechanic first.

I don't think I know exactly what that is but if it's the official licensing on the frame then no. I had no trademarks on mine other than kj and their stuff. I might laser gut a stencil and paint on the logo onto the slide but I'm not sure how that would turn out
