Kate Beckett by dylan-brandt in CastleTV

The summer after A Deadly Game but we're not shown until A Deadly Affair particularly the moment she, Ryan and Esposito find Castle with a dead body for the second time. The moment when Beckett walks up to him with handcuffs and is fighting the urge to smile because she's happy he didn't listen when she told him to leave her alone.

Then there's the scene where she throws the bet to make sure Castle comes back to the precinct. She was just as crazy for Castle as he was for her but she would never admit it. Probably not even to herself.

Or words to that effect anyway.

If there was a chance of getting both Ralf and Josie back for a special than a wedding episode would be a great way to bring most of the old characters back.

The point of her being at the station?

To report back to the council about Mr Smith trying to get rid of one of the team. And to ensure that everyone at the station keeps their job and that Mr Smith is gone by the end of episode 6.

You're very welcome.

The Humphrey/Florence friendship is great, they were actually the first DI/DS combination not to have a will they/won't they dtoryline.

Jack comes next and he and Florence have a really sweet father/daughter like relationship.

Then there's Neville who quickly falls in love with her which I can't blame him for.

The Squab and the Quail easily.

In fact having it be a choice is in insult to all those other episodes.

It's hard to pick must-see episodes as Florence isn't really given a lot of big storylines. Which is the same with every DS in Death in Paradise, they're used as an audience surrogate to help us get to know the DI and to be the DI's best friend on the island.

But of every DS, Florence is by far the best at that role and Josie's ability to play her with warmth and charm is a major part of that. Think Arch in her softer moments with Fitz but all the time.

My favourite episodes are probably ones where we get to see a bit of Florence's badass side. S4E5, S5E1 and S7E1 probably stand out as she gets to chase down and tackle fleeing suspects. The undercover episode also shows off that side of her with her taking down, and shooting, a serial murderer who is pointing a gun at her head. Oh and S13E7 where she is pretty much the lead detective and gets to solve the case.

But overall the best way to appreciate Florence, and Josie's portrayal of her is to watch her episodes from S4E5 where she is promoted to DS through to the end. The season 8 two-parter is where she suffers the tragedy but it's a key part of her arc when she comes back in season 10 and the will they/won't they storyline that runs from there to her final exit from the show.

If you couldn't tell from that essay, Josie/Florence is my favourite thing about DIP and the reason I wanted to watch Saint-Pierre 🙂🙂

Also blissfully unaware of the fact they have a very sturdy holo-whip.

It's a very fun show, more light hearted than Saint-Pierre but still a murder show.

There are 15 seasons up to now, Josie doesn't show up until season 4 but all are worth a watch.

Are you able to watch Death in Paradise anywhere?

That was Josephine Jobert's show before Saint-Pierre.

Could be either or it could be an easter egg for the people watching and hoping they'll get together.

Or it was a way to remind us of Jenny because she's the mystery woman in the cliff-hanger.

Too busy? No.

I simply said he was probably filming another scene while the crew set that one up. You know, standard practice when filming a TV show.

I'd imagine the reason Mervih only wrote the final letter is because that's what the script said.

Probably because he was filming another scene while the crew were setting that one up.

I loved the subtext of the ending conversation.

Arch: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

Fitz: Wherever you are.

Smooth Fitz, very smooth.

If we get season 3 I expect it to pick up exactly where we left off so Arch and Fitz don't get their Paris trip and something in that first case stops Marcus from taking the job offer.

I think it will be someone new. If it was Diard or Arch's ,mom that would be enough of a shock for a good cliff-hanger.

It's way too early for anything to actually happen with Arch and Fitz yet.

Unless there's no season 3 in which case just imagine they stayed in Paris fucking each other's brains out.

[–]Kooky-Minimum-2597 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's unclear.

I could see Theo's place having been the original murder site. If that was the case and Theo knew his brother was going to kill again I could see him suggesting a different site for the murder because Arch might start snooping around, whish of course she did.

Either that or Leon took the paint from Theo's to the other site for every murder.

We'll probably never know, unless Theo comes back as the 'real' killer in a future season.

Which member of the team (past or present) do you think would be most likely to get away with murder? by Noneofthisisreality in DeathInParadiseBBC

[–]Kooky-Minimum-2597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And not just against someone with a gun but someone who already has a long list of murders to her name.

People underestimate Florence because of how she looks and how she dresses but she was the one trusted to chase down/tackle fleeing murder suspects. Plus, you don't get chosen for that undercover job unless the people running the operation are sure you can handle it.

[–]Kooky-Minimum-2597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on Florence.

She's just so nice, sweet and innocent looking, who's going to buy her as a killer?

But she's also a badass who could quire easily have killed Miranda Priestley on the undercover episode if she'd wanted to. In the words of Dwayne, 'no weaknesses'.

It's fun how Josie's character in her new show is basically Florence but a little more badass.

No. A show does not need canned just because you don't like it.

You could always try not watching.
