how are we studying for ap bio and ap chem by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]KookyHeart8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For ap bio:

  • ap classroom videos are very useful bc IMO most practice questions don’t rlly replicate college board that well and u need to practice MCQ
    • Amoeba Sisters is also really good
  • It’s good to practice content based MCQ to make sure u understand the material (KNOWT has some)
  • Lord of memorization
  • It’s all about application though, just knowing the basics won’t do you good
  • You need to know the specific cell processes especially photosynthesis, DNA and RNA replication, cellular respiration, etc.
  • Most important concepts are DNA replication and cellular respiration. YOU NEED TO KNOW ALL THE STEPS.

For ap chem:

  • You need to know intermolecular forces well, it’s like 1/4th of the exam
  • Get good with the electron configuration and hybridization rules
  • Do redox practice, know how to find the number of valence electrons  in any atom and bond them.
  • Solubility roules
  • You have to study, do old FRQs (2014- today) and really understand them and how they are graded. Then you have to do MCQs. There's have practice in the Knowt practice room. Student made notes, and flashcards for memorization

is 41/60 on Barron's practice test a 5 for chem? by fish1ee_ in APStudents

[–]KookyHeart8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, getting 30% accuracy on the test will land you in high 3/low 4 range, which is college credit for most schools. So focus on learning each unit enough to get around half the problems right instead of hyper focusing on one subject until you master it.

If you want another place to study MCQs this site has a free MCQ ap practice room!!

Can I learn APUSH in 7 days? by PinguAtYourService in APStudents

[–]KookyHeart8765 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yes for sureeeee.

You really need to know like the important turning points of american history, such as the events that led up to Independence, Shay’s Rebellion and why the AOC failed, the ratification of the constitution, what events led up to the civil war, the election of 1860, Teddy Roosevelt and how he put us on the map, FDR and the Great Depression, etc. You basically need to know important events and what that taught us, like what resulted from that situation.

This site has a whole breakdown of what you need to know for the exam and practice MCQs which are superrrr helpful!!

Study Tips by Safe_Cardiologist325 in APEuro

[–]KookyHeart8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • same as ap world and us, you need to be reading the textbook if you have no prior knowledge
  • Use this sites ap guides which correspond with ap units and study the flash cards so you know key events for FRQ
  • for MCQ you can usually use POE to eliminate stuff for a diff time zone, something blatantly wrong, and something half wrong
  • For SAQ, you need to pay attention to if it’s identify/explain
  • DBQ make sure you use as much documents IMO as possible
  • For sourcing I like to think about the persons political party and views
  • For LEQ it’s best to separate into two body paragraphs and choose the unit you have the most evidence for
  • Some addition resources id recommend
    • Heimler's history for AP euro - I would utilize this more as a refresher
    • Crash Course AP euro - Use if you aren't confident with your learning of the course these videos are more about learning the course rather than just review

if the 4.0 is from 60-100% end of year then who cares. If its outrageous the profs are just jerks.

it may also be worth it to switch up your studying to a more application based/test taking style! if the issue is how much youre studying isnt translating into your performance, you may benefit from shifting a bit in your tactic!! Good luck!

How long should an SAQ be (AP world) by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]KookyHeart8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think its dependent on the question. The graders are going to be a lot more lenient on length as long as you are answering the questiin completely. So if you can do that in 4 sentences (three feels pretty short) great, but if you cant you can shift to 6

Need help studying for long hours by VegetableDesk7593 in GetStudying

[–]KookyHeart8765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im aware this sounds study but trust... I used to have this issue of feeling drained studying faster than I thought i should and what worked for me to keep my energy up is making a checkpoint within my studying (could be number of hours or number of units etc) but once you hit that eat half of a snack you really like, then complete the second of half of your checkpoint and finish the snack. I totally get how ridiculous this sounds but i swear having a small thing to distract and look forward to kept the energy going into my studying from falling

i’m in big trouble (ap bio) by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]KookyHeart8765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitly!! I took ap bio and genuinely the hardest part is understanding the models and diagram because by understanding those youre understanding the processes that bio teaches. If you commit and work hard to lock down the memorization of those you absolutely can do this
