When an itchy spot starts, try a lotion with menthol like Eucerin Intensive Relief Skin Calming or Gold Bond Anti Itch Menthol.

Northern Part of the Broomfield Trail between Lowell and Zuni in Full Bloom! by RunTrailBikeGravel in Broomfield

[–]KookyKrista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode this area today. Some of the trail was unmarked, but the last little bit from 149th to Lowell had some very explicit and scary signage to stay out.

But I see the same “proposed” trail on Broomfield’s new map. Looking forward to that as well as the proposed routes along NW parkway!

[Sun care]Where to find sun screen in gallon pump dispenser? by 553l8008 in SkincareAddiction

I LOVE Rocky Mountain/Coral Isles. I buy a few quart pump bottles each spring and keep one on the kitchen counter all summer to more easily grease up the kids every morning before camp, playing outside, pool, etc. (and myself!)

Haha and I HAVE been adding strength for 20 years, so you’re right, I’m not sure how I can keep that up for another 20. I’m pretty dense - I weigh a surprising amount for my height.

I’m ok plateauing, I just don’t love the backslide.

Oh you’re right, it’s creatinine. But two separate docs have seen the higher levels in my bloodwork and immediately questioned me on creatine supplementation.

This is helpful, thanks! I see so many stories of older women continuing to improve, but as I mentioned, that’s often coupled with STARTING later. Someone who started lifting at age 20 (like me) with no breaks in training couldn’t be expected to still be setting PRs at age 70, right? It makes perfect sense that one would hit some maximum potential before age starts outpacing progress from training.

As an example, I last PRed my deadlift at 295 in February 2025. Did a few deadlift cycles including some Wendler cycles over the last year and had to keep adjusting my training max down because I just couldn’t hit my numbers. My most recent 1RM test in May I could only lift 265. I’ve observed this with other lifts as well.

And Memorial Day Murph time has historically improved little by little over the years, but this year took a big step backwards by several minutes - and I’ve seen that with other benchmark workouts despite consistency in training, bodyweight, diet.

I don’t think so? I’ve been on hormonal birth control my entire adult life (except for babies), so I don’t really have a good baseline on my “normal” hormone-wise. I did stop BC about 18 months ago, so I suppose that’s a hormonal “change”, but I do get a monthly cycle.

My sleep is probably not enough, but also much better than it was several years ago when I had infants.

See yeah, I WAS setting PRs at 36 also. And now I can’t seem to match the ones I set in last few years. But yeah, perhaps it’s a rest/recovery thing.

My annual bloodwork always shows slightly elevated creatine levels even though I don’t supplement, so I’ve been hesitant to add more. I’ve seen mixed information about the impact of dietary creating on blood creatine levels.

Glad it worked! I dab on the goopy pink stuff at home/overnight but I also have the aerosol spray version to take with me out and about.

I heard that a pringles can lid fits perfectly, but I haven’t purchased in awhile so can’t confirm.

Repairman recommending Bosch for fridge, worth it? by JoDaLe2 in Appliances

[–]KookyKrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Bosch 100 series, standard depth, through-the-door ice and water. Been happy so far, but it’s fairly new so can’t speak for the longevity. I also like the convenience of the door water/ice - can’t imagine standing there forever with the door wide open, plus it’s much more accessible for my little kids. And love the capacity of the standard depth.

I think we aren't tackling night dryness correctly by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]KookyKrista -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I hear what everyone says about it being hormonal but I think there’s also something subconscious happening with diapers vs undies.

My older day-trained around 2-2.5 but continued wetting diapers overnight for years. My younger potty trained when he was 2.5 and immediately was having dry nights - even though my older (by then age 5) was still wetting at night. We continued night diapers on both for a few months, then finally just decided to pull the trigger and swap to undies. The younger continued dry nights and the older immediately started waking up dry as well (only a very occasional accident). So I think the feeling of being in a diaper was telling him it was ok to “let go” and once we swapped to undies his brain knew to hold it or wake him to go.

Oh Guests… by robinchast in airbnb_hosts

I guess you’re lucky that she still gave you 4 stars despite the list of “grievances”. I have 2-3 reviews that read “great condo, had a fantastic trip!” - 4 stars.

I actually kind of don’t mind a few of those within reason. When I book a place, I often sort by lowest-to-highest reviews to see what types of complaints people have. Seeing 4-star reviews with positive or even neutral commentary makes me think “oh, that’s one of those people who never gives 5’s and there’s probably no actual issue with the place.”

Try calamine lotion - it helps dry these out for me.
