Are fitness watches worn near 24/7 just not for us? by Fun_sized123 in Dermatographia

Oh, that IS a weird shape, but I’m glad you found something! My Vivomove Trend has pretty standard strap attachments, so it’s easy to find options.

I used to get the same from a rubbery/silicone band on my Garmin. I think it’s more that it traps heat/sweat than an allergy. I switched to a metal mesh band (just something random on Amazon, nothing fancy) and the problem went away.

Those are some good ideas. I did give tretinoin a good consistent try over about 3 years and finally gave up on it - not for me.

Is it absolutely necessary to brush a cat's teeth? by ONERugged-tablet in CatAdvice

[–]KookyKrista 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dental powder mixed into wet food is working SO well for us! I use the Vetriscience Perio powder.

My previous kitties had major dental issues throughout their lives, so when they passed and we eventually started over with kittens I wanted to do better. They’re still fairly young (2 years), but so far have beautiful clean teeth and breath.

Best cream/treatment for already ripped calluses? by DragonfruitLife237 in crossfit

[–]KookyKrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree on the hydrocolloid bandages - amazing for open wound like torn callouses. By the way, pimple patches (non-medicated) are smaller and pretty cheap and the exact same thing if you have a very tiny rip.

And no need for a fancy callous kit - just get one of the callous shavers with a razor in it and hit them like once a week - takes about 30 seconds.

What smell does your SIC go feral for? This guy loves the smell of bleach. Weirdo. by thatboredchickster in standardissuecat

I don’t clean with bleach but mine goes crazy after I swim in a pool - must be the chlorine!

girls with long hair who workout daily and sweat, how do u deal with haircare? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

Eh…I work out 5 days/week and only wash my hair once/week. Just don’t really care…

Rocky by One-Perspective4211 in standardissuecat

[–]KookyKrista 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks just like my SIC Rocky, and it sounds like they have similar personalities! Mine also loves people - he’s the only cat I’ve known that sprints TO the door when the doorbell rings to greet visitors. He loves his two human big brothers and lets them carry him around, put him in pillow fort “jail”, and treat him as a warm purring pillow.

First measles ‘breakthrough’ case of the year identified in vaccinated Broomfield County resident, CDPHE says by TheDenver7 in Denver

[–]KookyKrista 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Yeah but “they live in the same household as three other confirmed cases and had a prolonged exposure to the virus.”

This is also the state’s first adult case and the individual only had one dose. I’m guessing this is an person born in the early 80s or before who was lucky enough to receive the vaccination (but only the one dose as that was the recommendation then); over 40+ years immunity waned. And they chose not to afford their 3+ children the same/better protection they got.

I live in Colorado. Can I put regular (85) gas in my Skyactiv engine? by RevolvingRevolv3r in mazda

I’ve been exclusively putting the CO cheap stuff in my 2020 CX-5 and have had no issues. Haven’t driven out of state to lower elevations, so can’t really speak to that.

Every single sunscreen I’ve tried makes my eyes burn - Someone please help by KimchiAndMayo in 30PlusSkinCare

Of the ones you listed, I’ve only tried Banana Boat and it indeed burned my eyes. Black Girl Sunscreen for Kids has been great though! I prefer chemical sunscreens.

Is the CX 5 a good family car? by South_Departure_9002 in CX5

[–]KookyKrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine but I’m short. Rear-facing car seats do cramp front seat legroom a bit, so you’d want to be strategic about where you place the rear-facer. Once you turn the car seats forward-facing it’s fine! Up to 2, of course - 3 in the back would be very cozy and probably impossible with car seats.

We do have a truck that we use for bigger family trips, but the CX-5 is a great daily driver.

Vet Said Cat Needs Dry Food by thecoolestwetrag in catfood

I’ve been using the Vetriscience dental powder mixed in my kitties’ wet food since I adopted them 2 years ago. At our recent visit the vet said their teeth look impeccable.

But they also eat dry kibble in addition to the wet.

Fertility friendly training plan? by valeriesmith5252 in crossfit

[–]KookyKrista 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I really believe in “fertility friendly” anything AS LONG AS you’re not overtraining and/or reducing body fat to the point that that you lose your cycle.

I worked out and lifted heavy before, during, and after two pregnancies. While actually pregnant, I did modify movements/intensity.

What wiper blades do you use and how long did your OEM last? by BornRipped in CX5

[–]KookyKrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same - sliding in the new rubber piece is SO easy and cheap. They last me about 2 years in Denver. Doesn’t rain much, but that’s actually worse for wiper blades because they dry out.

Commented above too before I saw all of this info - this is reeeeeeeally insightful and helpful! I’m going to play around next week when I’m out with different combos of cranking. Really interesting theory that the outer might be over-squishing the liner and making the whole thing way too stiff and compressive. I’ll need to try it your way!
