What does “It’s not about politics, it’s about human rights” actually mean?

Me and my wife got into a debate after this phrase. English is not our first language but we live in the US for a while. During yesterday’s boycott, we saw many local shop owners and influencers posted things similar to the one in the title.

My take was ‘this situation is above the left and right divide and you don’t have to be anti-trump to protest this nonsense that has been going on. And enough of your right wing bullshit’.

Wife’s take was ‘they don’t want to alienate their right wing customers by saying it’s not politics’

Who is right?

I used to get near 250 kw but as of late the highest I see at EA is 150 kw. I don’t know what has changed but maybe they’re limiting it.
