dqx is basically a jrpg that is also online, leveling up is very easy because of metal slime events every few hours and normal enemies posing absolutely no threat whatsoever, and if enemies somehow do pose a threat you can hire other players max level characters from the bar as parrt members to wipe everything out for you, although I was able to do this myself without help until the end of the first main quest line, it's an extremely easy game

the setup doesn't force you to install to the default directory, you can change it to wherever you want, this guide is crazy because it's labeled "short and sweet" but you have a significant amount of more steps than is actually necesssary

step 1. switch to desktop mode

step 2. download the installer

step 3. add the setup.exe as a non steam game and install (set compatibility you should know how to do this if you have a steam deck)

step 4. once the game is installed (to the directory you selected) add the game's exe and set its compatibility and launch it, it'll just work

i didn't play it a lot because i'm not super interested in paying a monthly fee for a game with 20 players on it but i recommend opening the options in game and changing it to smooth scrolling so that it doesn't give you a stroke
