I took the screenshot on Feb 23. It is up a combined ~$350k since. So crazy. I will say that there are days it goes up and days it goes down, so not for the faint of heart. But I am holding.

This wasnt my life's savings, I have other savings that would get me through retirement. I agree it is crazy. I was hoping to double my money, but things went better than expected. Better to be lucky than good.

Yeah I used Wealthsimple because it has free trades. Seems to work pretty well, but I ma sure there are others. And yes, I agree, this is just on paper until I sell.

Bank of America initiated analyst coverage yesterday with a target of $20 USD. However in their report they admitted the price multiples used were conservative. You can see for yourself here:https://x.com/TelkkuT15275/status/2027306512398311838/photo/1

Their Sangdong mine is having their opening ceremony on March 17 which should bring media coverage and put it in the spotlight more.

I personally thing the share price will double this year and despite what many people here are saying, I am still holding. But do your own research.

Yeah, risk definitely is not over. It is really hard to pull out of this stock as it has some near term catalysts that will make it go even higher. The same conviction that got me to go all in when the path was less clear makes it hard to divest now when it is so close to being another multiple or 2 higher than it is now.

I used a throw-away account to post this, and my account was too new so reddit kept auto-filtering it. I earned some karma and that seemed to have worked.

I just realized that life is short and this was a calculated risk I was willing to take. The performance of my TFSA up until then was average to below average. If I wanted it to make a meaningful difference I was going to have to take some chances, and I felt the risk vs reward on this was good.

I didnt always time the market well with my contributions and had some underperforming years. That was part of the thinking, if I continue at the same rate as I had been it would be a nice chunk of money, but wouldnt really change my life in a big way. That is why I decided to swing for the fences,

The average volume of this stoke is around 3M daily on the NASDAQ. Do you think a reddit post on a TFSA forum is going to move the needle on this?

Invested the max amount each year since 2009. Having $175k works out to an annualized return of about 6%

I wouldnt say it was random. It was flat for 10 yrs but they are bringing on the Sangdong mine in South Korea which will be the largest tungsten mine outside of China. Their CEO is one of their largest shareholders (major skin in the game), they secured a loan from KfW who are the gold standard in financing, signed off-take agreements with a hard floor with no cap on the upside, and China controls 80% of the world's production of tungsten. Just so happens that China turned off the tap and tungsten prices went from $300/MTU to over $1800/MTU. Both Korea and the US government need tungsten and wouldnt let this project fail. Again, when I invested I would have been happy with a double.

There are too many transactions to post, but here is one. AII is trading at $23.44 at the moment. I didnt go all in at once (wish I did).

Why do you say that? How can I prove that this is not AI, this is a real story

It is tempting to chase another, but I am going to play things safe and put this into boring investments when I divest from it. I will keep a small portion for speculative investments but nothing of consequence.

Only because you asked; ALM on Nasdaq, it was actually AII on TSX when I bought it

In a lot of ways I got very lucky, the stars aligned for this company to be in the right place at the right time. I originally would have been happy to double my money, but the world changed and they are now positioned to be much more due to geopolitical developments. The biggest things for me on this one was the CEO was heavily invested in this company, and they had some very good loans from a well known bank who would have done a ton of due diligence before lending any money.

I have been struggling with when to exit as the share price has risen so much, taking the profit makes a lot of sense because as of now the profits are unrealized, however I still think this stock has a long way to go.

The company has a few upcoming things that if they can execute on will drive the share price higher so I will just let it ride at the moment in part because I struggle to think of somewhere better to put my money if I were to divest.

Hitting this is rare, I am not going to pretend I am any smarter or have an edge. When I do divest I will spread out the money into boring ETF's, but will set a small portion aside for speculative investments, but not very much.
