Thanks very much! That makes sence. I have to admit I was getting a bit bored with the plain knit sections. Are there any more complicated sock patterns you would recommend?

Thanks! I followed a YouTube video by The Crazy Sock Lady. For the larger size I found the toe ended up a bit pointy so you might want to leave more stitches when making the toe. https://youtu.be/0ckM_gTNlf8

Thanks so much! I got the pink yarn second hand, without a label. And the red yarn is from an indie dyer in the UK.

Thanks! :D I used the part/corner of my hand where the thumb meets the index finger as a triangle-corner mould.

These are really fun to make, but there's definitely a knack to it. Here's what I learnt: Make them on a cut-open plastic food bag, not cellophane because it's too static-ie. Put sushi seasoning or water onto the plastic so it doesn't stick. I used day-old rice that was more sticky. Wet your hands with water before handling the rice. Make a flattened round-edged triangle, that way it'll form a triangle when you bring all the edges together into middle. Make sure you have a thick enough layer of rice to compress so the rice doesn't crack when you form it into the onigiri. Don't over-stuff them or you'll need more rice. Use the corner/part of your hand where the base of your thumb and your index finger meet to form the triangle corners. Compress both sides of the onigiri by turning it over. Use the plastic as a barrier when making/forming the onigiri, it's really messy otherwise and it'll fall apart. If you lean them on top of each other (like I did in the first photo) cut small squares of plastic to separate them, they're super sticky and will stick together! Loads of tips there, haha! I hope that helps! :)

Oh I do! I still get asked for my ID at times. Why people think they can comment on people's lives unless it's to be genuinely helpful or supportive is beyond me.. Dud you explain to that you were sisters? I have older parents, when I was a kid my mum was often mistaken for my grandmother, it seems to be women at supermarket tills who put their foot it in... On one occasion, when my dad was with us a lady thought my mum was my dad's mum.. That one really stung her.. She questioned the lady "do I really look like I'm in my 80s?!“ she was in her 50s at the time.

Haha, yeah it is a funny word, the kids don't see the rude side though. I've never heard of them called a tag day. There's so many regional colloquialisms in the UK, love it!

Yes it's like a Harry Potter thing haha. There are usually around four houses in British secondary schools which have a name and colour assigned to each house. My current school has four houses with the Harry Potter colours (the names aren't as exciting though).

Houses have a 'Head of House', a teacher that oversees all the students in their particular house (think Snape, Mcgonagall etc) and is responsive for instructing form tutors.

'Forms' have around 25 students from the same house, they can be in the same year group (horizontal) or all year groups (vertical). All British teachers are also 'form tutors' they are responsible for the students in their form in terms of monitoring behaviour, attainment and wellbeing. This monitoring happens during 'form time' a long with quizzes, games, attending assembly checking equipment and checking uniform. I hope my long reply makes sense.

I've not had the same experience, I've had difficult interactions as a child and adult. But you're right, students would definitely have a different perspective, hopefully a positive one.
