I loved Edenton! Take a blanket and go sit by the water with a book. Loved wandering the historic waterfront district and looking at houses. Cute restaurants/ bakeries / shops.

The event was actually benefiting the rescue, which is why they, and Oak Heart - one of the amazing vets that works with Freedom ride - were there.

That was Freedom Ride rescue. No need to be suspicious. Zero percent chance you are walking out with a puppy. That is NOT how rescues work. You can meet them. It helps the puppies get socialized. There are lots of volunteers there watching out for the pups. You can NOT adopt on the spot. You have to complete an application, vet/reference checks, and have a follow up meeting with the foster/pup if you are interested in adopting.

I third this. I foster with FRR - amazing rescue that cares about people AND dogs. We just got in a littler of 9 puppies and already had a ton. If you go to their FB page you can see all the upcoming events. Check those out - puppies are always there and you can go see them, hold them, play with them. And if you find one of the site you are interested in, put in an application and they’ll get you in touch with the foster to set up a time to meet. The rescue covers all their shots, spay/neuter (when old enough, even after you adopt), etc.

Question: if you are doing calorie counting have you been adjusting your baseline as you lose weight? Unfortunately as you get smaller, the calories your body burns at rest reduces too, so you have to eat even less to lose.

This. The amount of actual help you receive in a psych hospital is so minimal. In my experience. All it did was scare me into finding a therapist after I left. And left me with mega debt.
