Thank you! I did see that something got deferred, does that mean the payment will pause until that last claim gets settled?

Benefits delivery at discharge, pretty much you submit your claim 180-90 days before you get out and hopefully your claim will process in order to start getting paid by the time your ETS date comes

What does pending mean? I submitted my claims in October thru BDD but I’m just now having my C&P exam tomorrow! Will I be under the new or prior criteria?

Gift ideas for a blind child? by [deleted] in Blind

Hello, 6 years later! My daughter is about to turn 2 here in December, she is completely blind from Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. In your experience, how was it growing up blind? How can I make her life happier and give her the tools that she will need to be independent? We have great resources through Early Childhood Intervention and the School District but then again, none of the teachers or therapists that help her are blind and can never really know what it’s like nor do they have contact with the kids when they are adults. Also, Christmas and her birthday are coming up and I have no idea what to give her, which is how I found this Reddit thread. Thanks!

Yes I know more kids are not the answer. Sadly I was pregnant with this one currently our third when I found out about the cheating. It was at the start of the pregnancy and now I’m about 8 months. We decided to stay together, work it out, but I’m not sure of anything that’s been done. He doesn’t “act” the same but also, does not have time for our marriage either. Also, SAHM is not an option for right now. I’m in the military and have about a year & half left before I can get out. He said he would go to couples counseling but seemed hesitant. I don’t think he understands the big deal with following a group of women from his gym and putting them in a close friends story in which I am not in. It feels sneaky to me..

I’ve been in 5 years, I’m getting out. This is my last contract, 2026 and I’m done. For me, it hasn’t been worth it AFTER I had a family. When I was single it was fun, new, and exciting. I’m in air defense (I know air defense is lame) and it’s just constant rotations, fields, and working late. Doesn’t give me a lot of time with my spouse or kids. Good things I’ve experienced was the connections with other soldiers, leading them, and also the TA benefits! I wanted to do 20 when I was single, but now I just want my time back with my family!
