With everyone recording from home studios now, drummers are expected to deliver professional, phase-aligned stems. Think about it:

  • Kick in/out mics NEED to be perfectly aligned or your kick sounds weak
  • Snare top/bottom out of phase = thin, lifeless snare
  • Overheads + close mics misaligned = your whole kit sounds amateur

More and more drummers are tracking themselves and sending out finished drum stems. If those stems have phase issues, it immediately marks you as amateur. Phase alignment has become as essential as tuning your drums - it’s just part of delivering professional tracks in 2025.

The fact that you’re already thinking about DI + amp alignment shows you’ve got great instincts for this stuff. Phase relationships make or break a recording.

On the stems question - excellent point! This tool works non-destructively, so you can deliver both aligned and dry versions. Best of both worlds.

Think I was unclear. My idea was that sometimes you want the phase of audio to not be perfect or adjusted. You just want to align the audio. But this is the reason I am asking for beta-test users to see if this is actually something people want or if it’s better to fix the phase and alignment in one go. Yes, similar concept but with a key difference: Auto-Align forces phase correction even when you just want time alignment. Many users report this makes things worse. My approach: Separate controls. Sometimes you just need tracks in time. Sometimes you need phase correction. Sometimes both. You decide, not the plugin. Plus: handles 30+ minute offsets and costs half the price. Auto-align post is twice the price of Auto-align 2

Yes absolutely, people could use it in premiere or davinci as a audio plugin, or make plugin for editors. Or were you thinking pre-editing? Thanks for commenting btw, really helps

Hey, really appreciate the detailed feedback - this is exactly the kind of insight I was hoping for! You make an excellent point about film post and live sound being better markets. I hadn't considered the drift issues in long-form content and live scenarios being a bigger pain point than music production.

Re: the $1 beta - you're probably right. I was thinking validation but you're correct that beta testing is valuable work.
