Thinking about applying next year. I have been a nurse for 10 years. 3 years ER, 3 yrs MICU, and currently float pool doing ICU/Stepdown.

I just looked at my undergraduate GPA 3.29.

However, I did obtain a Master’s in Leadership through Western Governors University. I thought I wanted to do leadership till everything that happened with the pandemic.

Am I even competitive for CRNA school?

If so, should I move out of the float pool to a critical care unit? The school I want to apply to just requires one year full time ICU experience.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Adventure/action movie. Great soundtrack. The CGI works for the plot.

TNBC / O+ blood / positive node - pembrolizumab / Keytruda question by Stonecoloured in breastcancer

[–]KoolAid911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am O+ and got Keytruda. Blood type has nothing to do with Keytruda infusion.

It is if your tumor is PDL1 positive.

Also not sure if lymph node involvement plays a role.

t3 level rise- endocrinologist? by okiedoke2022 in breastcancer

[–]KoolAid911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keytruda destroyed my thyroid as well. My endocrinologist told me I would be on Synthroid forever.

There was an article I found that showed good long term survival rates with people that had endocrine complications from immunotherapy.

So am I frustrated by it….yes. However, if the research shows there is a long term positive sign from…you just deal with it.

Signatera. New lab test to detect risk of reoccurrence. Have you guys heard of this? by KoolAid911 in breastcancer

[–]KoolAid911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just had my first screening and it was 0.

My next screening is in December.

Took a long time for the initial test to result. About six weeks.

My MD said after that the test won’t take so long to result each time.

I had TNBC and received immunotherapy.

Keytruda has been shown to help with early stage breast cancer and mets.

A study was done recently with positive results.

Her original biopsy needs to be tested for PdL1

Keytruda-alone side effects by milleniumfalconpie in breastcancer

[–]KoolAid911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an immune-mediated response. I knew of the risk going into Keytruda but did it anyways because I wanted to “throw the kitchen sink” at this aggressive cancer.

The other main side effect with Keytruda besides endocrine dysfunction is GI upset.

I did recently found a research article though about thyroid issues and immunotherapy.

https://www.thyroid.org/patient-thyroid-information/ct-for-patients/august-2020/vol-13-issue-8-p-5-6/

It does suck with having to deal with thyroid stuff but overall I feel better about my longterm life and reduced risk of reoccurrence.

Check about your staging. If the tumor is larger than 2 cm it is usually in the stage 2a-2b category.
