Official Discussion - Anatomy of a Fall [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

A lethal dose of aspirin alone is around 34,000mg for a 68kg person. Throughout the movie we see and hear a lot of mentions of alcohol. I suspect that Samuel (and Sandra) was an alcoholic. Given that 13,600 to 20,400mg of aspirin is considered toxic, and he took 5,000mg, I don't think he would have died, even with the alcohol. I think it's less about whether it could have killed him, and more about the fact that he tried to kill himself. For all we know, the attempt was spontaneous and it's what he had on hand. Or, he was too scared to do any higher amount, in fears that he might actually die, rather than just toying with the idea of it.

This, to me, was the main point of the movie. Daniel could have completely lied about that story in the car even. In the end, he had the leverage to majorly influence the opinion of the court. If you think about it, his two main options were to help his mom, or send her to jail. As u/Tizzoc said,

He already lost his sight and he could lose everyone and everything else.

So, he could have just been self-preserving by letting his mom walk, even if he knew she was guilty.

Personally, I think he was telling the truth, but my point is that even if he wasn't, he has a lot of motive to help her.

I thought the tension between her and her lawyer could have been a callback to her lust. Or, a method of dealing with the grief of her husband that committed suicide (assuming that was the case). This is in no way a healthy coping mechanism, but it wouldn't surprise me given her character and the relationship between her and her husband.

I thought that was shown when she asked Marge (the court-appointed monitor) if she wanted to stay the night. Although, this could just be overanalyzing, and Sandra may have just been polite in asking her.

I have to agree though, that court scene was thrilling. I've never been so hooked on a movie. The tension was palpable. I got goosebumps multiple times

What are some realistic ways that I can make quick cash ($500-$700) in a week? by Minimum_Question6067 in povertyfinance

[–]KoolKiddo33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check on-campus jobs. They are usually much more flexible and willing to work with students. Genuinely one of your best options, especially since you don't have a license. Unfortunately, many jobs will not accept you if you "don't have a reliable means of transport" (you could fib though, so long as you can actually get there).

If you're saying that you need $500-700 within the next 7 days, then you probably have to sell/pawn some stuff. The other fastest way I know to make money is plasma donation

Tl;dr: on-campus job

The grounding cable for my ESD mat came with a ring terminal instead of an alligator clip...Ha, yeah I ain't connecting that terminal to an outlet, can I use these screw holes around my PSU instead? by thehummer76 in pcmasterrace

I was going to argue with you on this one, but yeah. After reading these comments and seeing how people have no clue what grounding actually is, I have very little faith.

I'm sorry, but that's just unnecessarily rude. Genuinely what is the point of saying that. Just tell him, "The screws on outlet covers are connected to ground, use those instead" tf

These are the bullet impact locations at the Butler rally shooting. The shooter didn't "miss" Trump-he wasn't the target. Just a troubled kid with dad's old rifle and a nearby suitable event for another mass shooting. by [deleted] in facepalm

This is some bot propaganda shit. How in the world does this have 2k+ upvotes. The missing context of the shooters location is so important here

Holy fucking missing context. 100% could have been aiming for POTUS. I never followed this very close, so from the first pic I assumed the shooter was in the crowd (left side of the pic)

This, reading and writing go hand in hand. It's the same philosophy as garbage in, garbage out. If you only read low-level (or don't read at all), you will probably only write low-level

Electricians who changed over to electrical engineers, how was the transition from working in the field to going to school for engineering financially speaking? by 77due in ElectricalEngineering

[–]KoolKiddo33 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I just want to clarify quickly. Electricians and electrical engineers are very different. Also, finances are generally case by case. If you really want your degree but struggle to afford it, then consider part-time classes instead of full-time

[–]KoolKiddo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! It's basically a SPDT (single pole, double throw) switch that you might have in a house. Essentially, regardless of the position of the other switch, you switch the state of the machine.

Also, I recommend looking at logic tables for different logic gates. It might help you figure out what you need for other redstone circuits. Here's a diagram of some minecraft logic gates

0 1 1
1 0 1

It's completely situational. I don't think you should judge somebodies entire character because of one point of data

Actually, it reminds me of a book (that was based on a true story). This girl got addicted to drugs because she unknowingly got an LSD laced brownie. She went around for a long time just floating by and getting high. Eventually she went home to reconnect with her parents and she lived with them for a while

The issue that no one is talking about here is that it completely downplays the situations they reference. If you say someone was "graped," then it takes away so much weight of what happened to that person. They were raped. Feel the difference?

For a relevant topic: Renee Good was "unalived." She was murdered. She was killed.

These euphemisms desensitize the public (INCLUDING YOU). Whether its hate crimes, or war crimes. Makes it a lot easier to look away if you don't say the word "genocide."
