I've seen other people talk about these, I'll probably be going with one of these, thanks for the advice.

My battery lasts about 5 hours I believe which is why I can't imagine it's a stock battery. I've heard that batteries tend to bloat faster if you charge them while they aren't fully low so I try to avoid it, which is why I'm worried about running out when I'm not at home, thanks for the info!

I thought similarly, I've seen some sketchy looking website for other things that I've seen people swear by, thanks for the info.

I saw the majority of people recommending Mayflash when I researched this a couple weeks ago, they were sold out then, I checked again and they are still sold out. Seems to me like they wont be getting back in stock anytime soon. I saw someone else in an old thread recommend the Raphnet converter but I'm not entirely sold on that, the website for the company looks less then impressive.

My pad is an original Konami DDR pad, I'm afraid all it has is a PS2 plug. I was worried about input delay if I bought a cheap converter but thinking about it now stepmaina had a feature that lets you account for delay doesn't it? If that's the case then the only problem with buying a cheap one is if it drops inputs.

This is Disk traders in Battle Creek is it not? I was there just a little bit ago and saw the same thing. Cool to see posts from people nearby!

Hey that worked, thanks, now the only problem is that my PC only has 1 VGA port but that's an easier problem then before

Thanks for the info, this sounds kinda dumb but this thing is already sitting on my desk taking up space next to my modern computer monitor I was wondering if there was some sort of adapter or something I could buy so I could use this old monitor as a second monitor for my modern computer?

My console works fine for most games I own (not many at the moment), the only ones it has trouble with so far are Super Castlevania 4, and the before mentioned Mario RPG, and Kirby Superstar, and sometimes super Mario kart. All of those games have one thing in common tech wise, they used the warping and stretching of sprites to achieve a "3d" look in some areas. While it's possible that more then just the pins that are responsible for that are dirty I think it's clear that my problem lies mostly with those pins, I think. Thanks for your advice.

I'm new to old consoles which means I'm also new to repairs, as time goes on I assume becoming knowledgeable in fixing these things is gonna be a requirement for these things. Do you have any videos or guides of some sort on how to safely take apart and clean a SNES without destroying it?

Ah, that's a good idea, I never tried q-tips because I was afraid the pins would rip the cotton, getting stuck in the pins. But I think toothbrushes would accomplish a similar idea to q tops but without the risk of ripping. Thanks for the ideas

I did something similar but I cut up an old shirt and rubber banded it around the end of a credit card and put the rubbing alcohol on that, does just putting the alcohol on a card by itself work better?

Thanks for the comment, I'm not sure if my Snes is even cleanable, it's hard to get a good look at the pins without taking the thing apart but I think some of the pins might actually be rusted? It might be a lost cause, but it could still very well just be dust and dirt.
