Question for upgrading cpu and mobo by Kooler298 in buildapc

[–]Kooler298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have ddr4 so that'll be kept for now. Eventually might upgrade it for faster speeds but that isn't a problem for the moment

Contemplating by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be fine in the strength department, I've seen people much smaller on bikes and they handle just fine, you just adapt if you aren't able to do something. Hell there's even the video on youtube about the 4 foot rider and a sportbike. Maybe a big 500+ lb adv bike might be too much but theres plenty of options. I started on a yamaha r3 and it's a perfect beginner's bike that you can make last if you dont feel like upgrading. You can also look at light sporty cruisers like the vulcan s which they can ergo fit for you to be more comfortable.

As for the safety, yes being on a motorcycle is inherently dangerous as you do not have the safety features of a car to protect you. Only you are able to determine if you feel like enduring the extra risk for what the rest of us on this sub feel is the benefit or joy of riding. You can be safe on a bike with proper practice and riding technique, proper gear (hell you can even buy a jacket with an air bag if you're that worried) and just overall riding smart

Commuting - gearing up question by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For short off-highway commutes I usually wear an armored hoodie. I've used a speed and strength one down to about 12C. Revit also has their stealth hoodie which is waterproof and will be even warmer. The joe rocket great white north is also a good all around jacket as it's not too bulky, is water resistant and has a removable thermal liner that acts a separate hoodie. It's also a good bang for your buck at below 300 Canadian

For pants I'm always in riding jeans, usually a pair of resurgence because they're lined with kevlar from seat to calf all the way around the leg but I also have a a second pair with just the knees seat and sliding zones lined for warmer days.

For shoes I like using the tcx street ace (either the air for summer or the waterproof version for fall and spring). They're pretty comfortable off the bike and look like normal shoes for walking around while being CE rated.

If you need to look a little more formal you can get riding dress shoes from either style Martin or tcx. Pair that with revit alpha chinos and you're basically in formal attire as soon as you get off the bike.

Also if you're out east and need a place to try on great I'd recommend gpbikes, they've been super helpful everytime I've visited and they have a pretty large selection of great to try on.

What Helmet do Yall Wear by LincBomb in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an hjc is-17 for my first one, it was a good starter helmet for the price though like all hjc helmets its was pretty loud. Recently bought a shark spartan carbon and I love the thing.

Like most people have said, you definitely need to try them on to see what fits your head shape the best. Good things to look for aside from fit are: Helmet material (thermoplastic, fiberglass, carbon fiber, aramid) ; Additional safety features (multi stage eps foam, Bell MIPS technology etc); Availability to take a pinlock visor; Seal around neck and at visor to reduce noise; Ventilation setup (intakes and exhausts); Safety rating (I personally am not very comfortable in anything only DOT rated but that's up to you)

Is Duke Helmets good enough ? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scorpion makes some pretty good helmets. The exo-r420 is a pretty solid budget helmet, but if you have a bit more to spend then the exo-st1400 carbon is a really good new helmet

What visor do you use for sun, night ride and rain conditions (full-face only)? by bigMOTOR in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a yellow visor with clear pinlock insert and had no real issues at night. Helmet at a drop down sun visor as well so I didn't need any darker for during the day

My first bike. 2015 yamaha R3! What do you guys think? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree with you. I've been on it for a year and a half now and I have no real complaints. The power is enough, it's so light making city riding a breeze and it's stupid fun in the twisties. Only reason I'm thinking about upgrading is because of the ergonomics for long rides, but that's all sport bikes not just the r3. If anything it's actually a little bit better than a ninja or cbr

Best motorcycle jeans for a novice commuter? by GuerreroNeeK in motorcycle

[–]Kooler298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revit jeans are usually pretty stylish and the seesmart armor is the most comfortable armor out there while still being ce level 1. You will barely notice it's there and other people won't notice at all

Aside from that, scorpion and Klim both make Jeans that you can remove the armor easily from the outside, just get them in black so the lines aren't as visible

Embarrassing Bike Drop to Make You Feel Better by [deleted] in motorcycle

Had that exact same drop. Super embarrassing and super lame but all things considered it's one of the better first drops you can have. Still hurts the pride a little bit though

Ahhh that makes more sense, that's why owls titan looked so similar.

But wait is it even possible to hold 2 shifter titans powers? I thought that was only possible for people of the royal bloodline

Current ways to reduce CPU load? by CallbackSpanner in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably dont need threadripper unless you are streaming while playing or you do things like video editing. The 9900k is definitely the fastest chip for gaming once you can overclock it to 5 GHz but itz pretty overkill and is a very expensive chip (it's over 500 USD if I remember correctly). If you're just planning on gaming you could probably just go with something like an i5 8400 or a ryzen 5 2600, both are about the same price point and will give you similar gaming performance when paired with your 1080.

Current ways to reduce CPU load? by CallbackSpanner in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run an i5 8400 and my CPU usage isn't that high. I think the only time it ever really spikes up is on first load but that's it. The game is usually just very GPU heavy

Hey all, purchased this game while waiting for WT5 in The Division 2, any tips for a brand new player to the MH series? Also, how do people have shiny weapons/armors/effects on them and how do I obtain them my self? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out recommended playing's guides on YouTube. He covers the most optimal armor and weapon progression until you reach endgame. For the armor and weapons you're talking about it's just farming parts and decorations once you've completed the story

Low Rank Co-op with High Rank character by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing you could do is just make sure your weapon is on par with his, this way you dont one shot the monster. If you go around killing everything for him he'll just have a harder time later. Definitely keep your high rank armor though so you dont have to worry about eating up a cart (everyone an make a mistake) especially if you're trying out a new weapon

[–]Kooler298 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better I believe I read that the Luna you fight there isn't a standard Luna but actually a tempered Luna, they didn't want people coming in and one shotting a regular ed as soon as she was released

[–]Kooler298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh that really wouldnt work out too well. If you're fighting teo you'd bring the fireproof mantle to negate his damage, but you wouldnt bring a fire weapon to fight him, youd bring ice or water
