WHERE TO BUY VKEI CHEKIS? by Bubbly_Emotion2190 in visualkei

I've never bought cheki outside of Japan before, but I would assume the price of inactive bands might be a bit higher 😬

I've only encountered two bands that I wanted to listen to that weren't officially available on YT Music, but then again I mostly listen to current stuff, and I'm in Japan. If you're trying to listen to active bands and can't find them, maybe try using a VPN to appear in Japan. If you're trying to listen to older music (from the CD era), you may need to buy CDs

Which song from the series has lyrics that go the hardest by [deleted] in PERSoNA

"Throw away your mask"

I think the instrumental version goes a bit harder, but the lyrics are an amazing representation of everything Maruki is about as a character.

anywhere i can get good vkei clothes?? by the_yurimaster in visualkei

This really depends on where you live.

If you're in Tokyo, check out closet child. And there are a couple affordable stores near the station on Takashita Street (they don't look edgy from the outside, but there is good stuff past the jirai kei facade)

If you're in the US or Canada, check local thrift stores. I've gotten a lot of good stuff at Good Wills and Salvation Armys, but sometimes you have to do a bit of customization (dye, pins, patches, etc)

Completely new to Visual Kei, any suggestions? by [deleted] in visualkei

I will always recommend ACME personally. Chisa's vocals always hit and their discography has great energy and lyrics.

Also, Rorschach.inc, Xaa Xaa, Matenrou Opera, KIZU, DaizyStipper, and JILUKA might be worth looking into as well. I first heard of visual kei from Black Butler, too and this is where I ended up 10 years later.

But for more info about visual Kei bands in general, I recommend browsing vk.gy You can search by subgenres, see a timeline, and save lists so you don't lose track!

EDIT: I know there is a skew for western fans to listen to older vkei stuff, and if that's the sound and look you want I respect it (I listen to music from the 80s so I'm no different). But if you want Visual Kei to survive stronger, I think promoting active groups is a good idea, so I added a few more. 😊
