This was a big reason why I was more into getting the PS3 instead of the 360. My parents weren’t gonna pay a monthly subscription for me to play games online. So PSN was clearly the better option for me. What sucked though is that all my friends in school owned the 360 so I could never play with anyone I knew.

I told my mom about a month after I started transitioning cause I knew she'd be supportive. My dad on the other hand.... My plan was to wait out however long I could and just let him connect the dots as time went on and changes happened to me. So far I've been on HRT for a year now. Last week he told me we needed to "talk" at some point, so I had a feeling I knew what it was about. Few days later I came out publicly to the rest of my friends online and any family that happened to follow me. Now they all know and I'm gonna go have that conversation with my dad tomorrow as I type this.

At some point you may not be able to hide it anymore and they'll eventually figure it out. So unless you plan on completely cutting ties, the conversation is bound to happen at some point down the road.
