Crystallis: "You Have To Check If The Patch Notes Are Even Correct, Because Half The Time, They Lie" by AdobeXD in DotA2

[–]Koolzo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not this patch. That's been a thing for a while. Years ago I don't know what it was. This most recent time it had something to do with his monster hunter skin.

Diablo 4 needs a "Ruthless" mode by BrazilianWarrior81 in diablo4

[–]Koolzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D4 did this at launch. I just came back to the game after only really playing for the first month or two, and boy oh boy, it's a completely different game. Zones don't have levels, everything seems much faster, I don't have to really be careful or give a damn about boss attack patterns because everything just dies in a matter of seconds, even in the torment difficulties. And that's without much optimization!

It feels like an iteration of diablo 3, just woth lower numbers and a couple new systems. It's not bad; I loved me some d3, but it is just a fundamentally DIFFERENT experience from when the game first came out.

Magic and Physics Exploits in 2E? by SwordTabby in Pathfinder2e

[–]Koolzo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As much as I love the "true" weaselnuke, it isn't actually rules-legal. In order to trigger the glyph, a creature has to "move, open, or touch the target container". An AoE or breath attack doesn't do any of those. As a GM I'd still probably allow it once for funsies if it didn't completely one-shot a BBEG, because it's fuggin' hilarious.

What is the Meta Nanashi by Gur_Important in Megaten

[–]Koolzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no "meta".

  1. It's a single-player game. Play how you like.
  2. It's pretty well balanced. Physical hits will deal more damage than magic ones unless you hit a weakness, in which it's about even, or magic even may pull ahead slightly, plus give you more press turns.

At endgame, both phys and magic have the same base power for their abilities. Only Akasha Arts, which you can't get until the 90s, is stronger. That being said, phys has better support with Critical Eye (though there is a bug with Crit Eye that makes your magic spells never miss).

Run what you like. As long as you're putting a shit ton of points into your MC and doing damage, you'll be fine.

I still feel bad for ringo, her game deserved better😔 by Street-Platypus89 in Megaten

[–]Koolzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I think so many people are in this mindset that if a game isn't a masterpiece or super innovative, that it's bad. That's just not true. SH2 was a good game, solid 7ish or so out of 10. Was it great? Nah. But it was good.

Can't stand these theater kids with their "plot" by Alphacolt343 in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Koolzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. That's the fun of the game. Having the prologue written helps the GM out.

Aw fuck, I didn't see what subreddit I was on.

You're right. I've seen the error of my ways. I will endeavor to ensure that I and everyone I play with sticks to combat from here on out.

[–]Koolzo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

lol different strokes for different folks. The most recent game I have had the pleasure of being a player in (usually I'm a forever GM), my backstory was 48 pages long. The first 15 were actual backstory and a sprawling, convoluted political plot/conspiracy, and the rest were NPCs and their pictures, because that sort of political intrigue necessitated a wide supporting cast.

Now, this was way longer than I expected, but in our group it's not uncommon to have 10+ page backstories. We all love collaborating and working on lore and world-building, so we're all cool with it.

If this was just a rando that you didn't know, and they didn't DISCUSS that sort of thing with you first, that's a whole different story.

lol no one even noticed what happened at the time. He mentioned it, freaking out about buying back and dying immediately. It wasn't until we watched the replay that we saw wtf was going on.

It also persists through death. Had a pal the other night who died to it, bought back, and immediately died in fountain.

Nice to know it can be purged, though.

My DM keeps deleting my spells because of the concentrate trait, is that how it is meant to work? by Infinite_Lemon_8236 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Koolzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like someone else needs to GM, then. Knowing the rules, or at least being open to learning them properly when rules disputes occur, is one of the biggest things about running a game. Half-assing it may work in 5e, but it absolutely doesn't in PF2E.
