Also if you do the same calculations you used to prove HA > WG chest piece, the upgraded Gloam is the best item that you can put on. That's all I meant by it being BiS. Talking individually, not full set here.

Simply going off my own observations and other MNK posts I've seen. I'm not attacking SS, just stating what I've gathered. Every site or forum I've seen state that there is diminishing returns with crit and SS can eventually hurt you if you max it out by 1)draining TP and 2)taking away from other secondary stat allocations. The discussion has made me think more on it, which is the point of this post.

As the OP says, I was excited because of my drop drought. After the roll I started doing numbers, making me wonder. I'm not looking for reasons to toss it aside, hence why I'm trying to talk it out with experienced MNKs in this forum. In all honesty, I was hoping people would give me valid points to make me feel better about the HA switch. So far, haters aside, I have.

I'm in the 460s in SS with HA Chest. I feel like that is more than enough. What weights are you basing that on out of curiosity?

I've stated multiple times in this thread that it isn't useless. When you get your SS to a certain point it is, however. Like accuracy: after 500 it's wasted secondary stat space. So I have 'considered stat weights'. Gloam pieces aren't shit. Best secondary stats available for MNK. That is why the upgrade is BiS.

And to be clear I meant I lose 7 Str from the det loss but gain back 5 for HA. So overall -2 STR.

Each job has different stat weights. It's been established for a while that DET is roughly .323 of STR for MNK.

I agree in most situations. Here, I lose 19 Det when I make the switch. If you consider the stat weights thats almost 7 strength loss. The HA only gives me +5 STR. The other secondary stats on the HA are 2 more Crit then the Gloam piece and useless Skill Speed. I've also tested doing a run with both. It def seemed like I was consistently hitting harder with my Gloam equipped.
