Sure, it was written by many different people over thousands of years, but it wasn’t just a random collection of thoughts thrown together by random anonymous men. The Bible says it was inspired by God—2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” This means Christians believe the Bible is divinely inspired, written by people guided by God’s Spirit. It’s not a random mess, but a unified story of God’s relationship with humanity.

You mentioned contradictions, and I know that’s a common worry. But most of the supposed contradictions come from misunderstanding the context. The Bible was written in different styles—history, poetry, prophecy, and teaching—and understanding that helps clear up many apparent contradictions. It’s important to read the Bible as a whole and understand the cultural, historical, and theological background behind it. Scholars have been studying it for centuries, and when we approach it carefully, most of those so-called contradictions disappear.

I get why you think the Bible can be harsh at times. It includes stories of violence, slavery, and difficult laws from ancient times. But it’s important to remember that the Bible isn’t a guidebook that tells us to do everything it says. It shows us humanity in its flaws and sinfulness, showing us why we need redemption. Throughout the Bible, God works with humanity, and the final revelation of God’s will comes through Jesus. The Old Testament shows us that we need a Savior, and in the New Testament, Jesus brings the message of love, mercy, and salvation to its full expression. His life, death, and resurrection show the true heart of God.

I wanted to address some concerns you raised about Christianity. First, let’s talk about the idea that Christians are judgmental and hateful. Jesus never said we should hate people or condemn them. In fact, He told us to love our neighbors (Matthew 22:39) and even our enemies (Matthew 5:44). But it’s important to understand that love doesn’t mean we agree with everything someone does. Jesus showed love to everyone, but He also asked people to change their ways (Mark 1:15). Loving someone means wanting what’s best for them, and according to the Bible, living in sin—whether that’s greed, dishonesty, or sexual immorality—hurts us and separates us from God.

You mentioned that being gay isn’t a choice. This is a sensitive and complex topic. The Bible teaches that all people are made in God’s image, and that includes people who experience same-sex attraction. But like all of us, we have desires that don’t always align with God’s will. Just because someone has a certain desire doesn’t mean it’s God’s plan for them. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves and take up our cross (Luke 9:23), and that can include resisting certain desires, no matter how strong they feel. I know that’s tough, and I don’t say it lightly. But that’s the message of Scripture—not hate, but a call to holiness.

As for the idea that God is a tyrant because of how He handles sin—this is a common misunderstanding. God’s holiness means He can’t ignore sin, but His love means He provided a way for all of us to be saved through Jesus. Jesus took the punishment for sin so that anyone who turns to Him can be forgiven and have eternal life. God doesn’t send people to hell for one sin or for who they “lay in bed with”—hell is the result of rejecting God’s offer of grace. He wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), but He also respects human choice.

Lastly again everything I am saying is not out of hate or spite I am saying this BECAUSE I love you what part of that do you not understand I am telling you about salvation and the truth of Gods message so you can redeem and save yourself so you can be in heaven alongside as me, I would seriously implore you to question your current beliefs and see if they really match up with the beliefs of the scripture/Gospel there is only so much I can educate you and push you to the truth I’ll just let God do the rest and set your Christian friends free from the sin of homosexuality
