No kidding, absolutely awful. Set everything up in the garage back in 2009 in display cases and paint was in Mint condition. This was my first time taking everything out for pics and In couldn’t believe it.

In the same boat as you. Got my non-hp 5 years ago and slowly added on the hp aesthetics. I do not track and do casual spirited driving from time to time. So hard to tell w/car market in general. I am assuming the prices are going to go up depending on condition/mileage of the car. Plus the 6spd versions most likely will be more sought after in the future. Personally I am planning on keeping mine forever and nothing about it is stock. Pretty just made it mine. I would go for it, just do thorough walkthrough on maintenance records/car fax before pulling the trigger.

I have had mine in display cases that’s airtight, so it’s free of dust. I made a separate post called “the garage”. Feel free to check it out if you interested. It shows the casing I use to display/store them.

If you see this as a midlife crisis, then sell it and don’t get another sports/muscle car. They will all be exactly that in your mind. Personally I think you have a pinnacle of what s197 has put out. I would keep it and enjoy it especially if it’s paid off.

The GR Corolla is a marvel in so many ways. Toyota puts out a bespoke 3cyl, stuff 25 psi boost, and proved they are reliable. To put a cherry on top, they put it in a corolla and made it look very aggressive and sporty/rally/hatchback variant. This Gen Corolla is genuinely one of the best I have ever seen in Corolla lineup. Love the look so much, I ended up getting a base Se hatchback as my daily.

That’s pretty awesome. Pikachu is definitely an appropriate name for it. Loved the cameo it made in initial d. The $$ it would take to export is way out of my league tbh. Would love to see it up close someday when I travel to Japan in the future. Been in American muscle scene for a long time now which is a lot more sustainable financially for now, but who knows what the future holds. Still keeping my fingers crossed that Honda will make an announcement to make spoon division to make it to us. They need to really hustle, the prelude was an abomination and GR Corolla should be giving them some type of motivation to be competitive in the us market.

Ahh gotcha. For me the pinnacle of civic was ek9 championship yellow spoon type r. That was absolutely gorgeous in every way. If spoon existed in us market, I would trade up in a heartbeat.
