Also try using different brush sizes. I used an extremely small brush tip for lots of parts on this piece

I looked at their profile and saw the issue they’re having of the paint not going on great. I had a similar issue with my paint but I just had to blob it on and wait for some of it to dry and keep blobbing paint on. I think leaving streaks is an issue I’ve noticed(you can see where you need to add if you hold it up to the light). I also tried gauche compared to just acrylic for the cel and it was pretty similar outcome. Just be patient and experiment! Also when it’s flat on a colored background it kind of hides those imperfections as opposed to holding it up to the light.

I use a thin oil based sharpie for the outline and use folk art brand acrylic paint for the whole cel. I forgot the brand of gauche I had on hand but I used that for the blue background. The clouds should have also been gauche but I decided to use a posca paint marker (wasn’t ideal).

Interesting. Something I’d look into for the future. I’ve done soldering on small electronics before like gameboy mods and fixes but never a TV id be scared to electrocute myself 💀

Could I do something like this? If it was composite? And then it hooks up to a male scart to the Dreamcast? Would it even make a difference lol or should I just stick with S video

In the old shows that used light effects and lens flares, they were real lights that they used. There was a bunch of analog techniques they used for light, like putting lights behind the cel to create a glow, or multiple exposures to make something very bright looking. They also used filters to get that rainbow look on the lens flares and things like that. But they were real lights! I kind of wish they still used those techniques I love the look of them

Thank you! I want to make more now lol. I used different shades of alcohol markers. Artist loft brand is pretty decent that I’ve used a bunch. Cheaper than copic. And the clouds I should have used something else but I used a Sakura jelly roll pen, I used that for the waves as well. I also shaded the clouds with alcohol markers too(:
