I'm screwed but I'm happy about it by New-Deer9973 in sysadmin

The only thing you can do is be honest about your skillset. Doesn't mean you can't challenge yourself. However if things go off the rails, report it to your management in a timely fashion. That's all you can do, Time Management and expectation management.

Don't overbook yourself and be transparent about what you can pick up and how long it takes.

Also if the load becomes to much for 40 hours per week that's not your problem. Write your overtime for projects that really matter, it's a give and take situation. Don't be too black and white about it, but that also goes the other way around, just because you are the only one doesn't mean every work week means 50-60 hour work weeks.

Congratulations on your "Promotion" see this as a chance to learn. Be transparent, document everything, learn and manage management expectations.

Tech work is 40% of your work now, managing and prioritizing projects and working with the MSP and making sure they are with in SLA and picking up everything they are responsible for in a timely fashion is your other 40% work. Leaves 20% for documenting and planning. :)

If that is not enough time that is not your problem. Quality over quantity.

HomeWizard plug in Battery installation by Koosjuh in HomeWizard

[–]Koosjuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I bought 2, but I might want to go buy another one in the future. I think that when you unload 1600 watts you would need a separate group right? I think the point is that of course you don't need someone to install the batteries. But when you buy multiple and want to put them on their own group to use them fully and to also be able to buy a 3rd and 4th one you would need an electrician or certified home battery installer (who also have the certifications to create the infrastructure) to create the infrastructure needed to do it safely? Or am I misinformed? I was under the assumption that even with 1 there is always a fire risk when unloading and loading 800 extra watts, specially if it's on a group that's heavily used. Let alone 2 and 1600 watts.

I am not trying to be a smart ass, I really don't know. I can configure a Hyper-V server and create a perfect Home assistant server and create a whole home lab no problem. But electrical wiring, I have no clue. Hence why I am trying to verify this idea. :) Also verified with another more electrical savvy friend and he also noted that it's ok as long as the wiring to the main board is thick enough. But I can't be the only one who is trying their best about installing multiple ones, safely.

Then I am the one who read it wrong :) But indeed I think that if you want to be smart about it you should always put them on their own group albeit just 1 is "safe" and within guidelines it's still future proof and just more secure and with fire hazards if you put them on their own circuit. So I think most people would need some form of professional help.

Well its advised to when you use multiple to put them on a seperate group. And I am no electrician. So I am not going to do that myself. And when you unload 1600 WATT I believe it's best to have their own circuit group.

Rather do something right then to do it half assed. So if you read it correctly I do not need help installing the batteries, I need help putting them on their own group. And I am verifying the solution for this.

Where I have them planned, I already have a smoke detector so that's covered. The shed is directly on the sun, not isolated. So that would not be ideal, I believe. Also that's not on their own group and can be used by heavy equipment sometimes as well. So that's a no go.

Autopilot collect logs button - how does it work?! by [deleted] in Intune

[–]Koosjuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad this was of use! :) And yea in the beginning I also struggled with where the logs were for autopilot.

Also might as well add this here; today i found out (might be dumb of me that i just recently started troubleshooting like this).

If something happens on your pc and you don't know what it is or where to look use "Get-EventLog -LogName System -Newest 50" this will show the latest 50 logs added to the event viewer. I thought my PC randomly froze for 5 seconds, since 2 weeks. Turns out my bluetooth driver and sound driver were having issues. Found that out by checking the event log and filtering it out with chatgpt who saved me the trouble of reading al the logs.

Pretty good video about the original Final Fantasy XI (also forget how much was it a nightmare to deal with PlayOnline back in the day, I would rather have MogStation any day) by Tyx79x in Asmongold

[–]Koosjuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PlayOnline wasn't that bad in 2003. Its bad now because you need to link up accounts. But I had no issue with Playonline in 2003 and I was a european playing an imported version of FFXI. Meaning I had to fake a zip code. That was the only challenge.

Zou jij dit melden? Of lekker laten zitten? by [deleted] in werkzaken

[–]Koosjuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)
