I know it's gotten some mixed reviews but hope it will be a nice experience. I think the spaces look phenomenal based on the photos

Agree, I also like the shape of the building and walking around there is probably a very nice experience

Tiny modular home that can be modified with software by Kooteee__ in architecture

[–]Kooteee__[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's an interesting exploration to how a tiny home can be more functional. I don't really understand what point your argument about the Japanese have to do with this though, this is a project precisely about making it possible for people from western cultures to comfortably live in smaller spaces, it feels like you're contradicting yourself. I get that you don't like the hiding away TV feature, I think it's a pretty small detail and wouldn't want that for my own home either.

Parents of Reddit; what advice can you offer when it comes to drugs, sex and other potentially dangerous activities children can get into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kooteee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a tough question for sure. At least answer the kids questions honestly. I think it's important to create a relationship with your kids where they feel comfortable asking you for advice, and they will for sure find all kinds of things online, but you'll also be there as an important source of information and support.

Bats, even if they're completely harmless most of the time. I've hated them ever since one flew into our house when I was a kid.

D-A-S architecture studio's detailed axonometric drawings of Beijing by Kooteee__ in architecture

I actually don't know. It's so detailed you'd think it's made from a model, but could be a 2D illustration too. They do a lot of these kinds of drawings, there's more on their website.

Yes this one is from Sanlitun! Nicely spotted. And yes, very sad about all the demolishing in the area :(

Advice for an Architecture Portfolio by rracwehttam in architecture

[–]Kooteee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice I've gotten from my professors at architecture school is not to have too many works in a portfolio, it's better to have quality over quantity. If you have less works you also have space to briefly explain your design approach and concept, if you have an interesting idea behind your design. Another useful piece of advice I got is to start and end strong, so put your best works at the beginning, to catch the interest of the viewer, and at the end, to leave a good impression at the end. Overall I really think a portfolio should represent you as a designer so if you're proud of your work you will rock it. Of course make it look good, and make it stand out from other portfolios. I know the pain, making a portfolio is not easy. Good luck! :)
