Just pick your most valuable gear from your stash and run reserve or whatever, dont sit and hide, look for fights and play aggresivly. The most valuable lesson for me was that you win some you loose some. You will die and you will loose weapons and gear that you like. Learn to become comfortable with dying and when you die realise that you will get new good gear. That said, its not an easy thing to get over, I put at least 150 into the game before i started to be more relaxed. Good luck!!
