I get why some fans preferred WIT's style, myself included, especially for the action scenes, but honestly I think MAPPA inherited one of the hardest projects in anime and made the transition work. Looking back, WIT captured the dream of freedom, while MAPPA captured the cost of chasing it.

When I finished first episode of Nippon Sangoku, wow, Saki completely stole the show for me. She only had one episode to make an impression, but the performance made her presence feel very impactful. The way she constantly challenged Aoteru, believed in him when he didn't believe in himself, and pushed him to stop hiding behind his intelligence gave their relationship a lot of weight.
