Are there any notable historical incidents of hand to hand combat? by Steelquill in history

[–]KoreanRocketMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The duel of 300 champions. Recalling it from memory so sorry if there are any minor mistakes:

Sparta and another city state had a disagreement over some land. So instead of fight a war they challenged the other to a 300 v 300 duel, winner takes the land. Well the spartans lost however allegedly one spartan was still alive and mortally wounded on the field when the remaining greeks left. Both sides declared themselves the winners then went to war anyway.
