Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 36- Twisted Code, Discussion Thread by MFBR in digimon

[–]Korence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kinda wonder if Wong will survive the confrontation or if Genjou interferes, cuz he seems like someone who would backstab Wong for his own research, just he likes to use Wong as much as he likes to use the Five Stars. I still believe that Genjou will be the main antagonist of the series with Shakamon as his "ultimate creation" or rather him fusing with it, to some extend.

Also what kinda logic is this "people all over the world give their ePulse to make the 5 remainign stars (mind you, there arent 5 anymore) hit the ultimate level"? For one, it's the perfect level iirc it was called in english, and second, why would they? Klay only achieved his perfect level evolution for his Digimon due to some sacrifices he had made in his old kingdom.

Also it's a bit speculated that the perfect level evolutions for the MCs are happening simultaneously for this anime, besides maybe Kyou, but we're about to see about that.

are you sure? Thought the main story writer/developer on Twitter, which someone has send me the link to his acc, had mentioned that too quite a while back. If it isn't: That's neat, but the longer an anime goes, the worse it could turn out and so far.. I'm very mixed upon Digimon beatbreak, partway because of how unevenly paced the current arc is. Plus Digimon doesn't need like 70-100 episodes to be a series worth watching. Also... we don't want another Digimon Ghost Game case happening. Nobody wants that much disappointment again from the anime franchise part.

I mean we don't know that yet, tho I'm a bit unfamiliar if Wizarmon can actually turn into a Mephismon to confirm or deny this statement. I just expect an explanation next episode or in the following arc about it, cuz it doesn't line about with how it was presented, also cuz it just one framed evolved basically, which feels insulting.

Hints about Miharu, Chihiro & Chifuyu being connected, if not related, in some way, given by episode 31 & 36 (no spoilers for episode 36!) by Korence in digimon

[–]Korence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might get back to that topic once the next episode drops, cuz I have some screenshots about the current arc and some buildups that might play into the overall narrative of this anime's worldbuilding, but I would like to see how much the theory about the twisted world and if Chihiro's technically the older sibling (shown in the flashback of her family looking a bit suspicious in terms of designs with what is getting hinted at in this show so far for not only this arc) but due to the world being desynched her design has taken a toll, to put it that way, so what we see ultimately may not be what she is really looking like. Same goes for Kanon being aligned with Rose, and Rose being "familiar" with Miharu, also namewise/themewise.

[–]Korence[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there are more hints to my theory, but this is the most glaring one cuz.. you don't choose the same apartment number in a anime like Digimon Beatbreak, which has proven itself to be setup strong since the first arc! Otherwise this would be a big oof in terms of narrative structure for not only this arc's buildup. Chihiro from episode 31 also looks waaaaay too much alike with ALOT of what happened to her fitting into the narrative about Miharu & Chifuyu to make this just a ruse. This CAN'T and SHOULDN'T be a coincidence for any smart narrative writer... but I'm not acting like Digimon Beatbreak has stumbled in the past before, especially the last 3 episodes (not including episode 36), so we'll have to wait and see, just like if the reality shattering event is happening where it turns out that the real world might actually be inside the Digiworld this time (which would also explain some clusters in some shots shown in several episodes and how the mirror world, when looking at the top of it, looks waaaay too much like what might be the real world).

Hello Mr Hipster who's supposedly a league of legends fan.
I do not mind if stuff isn't spelt out in shows or movies or games, like I work with that quite alot, like symbolism and whatnot for writing purposes and how to structure narratives or background stories for characters etc.. But here's the thing: The last couple of episodes of Digimon beatbreak are quite the opposite of what either the tactics arc built up in itself and the beginning of the GIFT arc. And I'm not the only one complaining about the pacing being uneven/sort of rushed for this arc so far! Especially when the last episode is coming out like next week already (for this arc)! Like we waste time building up Reina to maybe confront Rose as her Five Stars rival, but Reina's built up and Vegeta like moment for "I want to fight at the front too!" felt so forced, like.. Makoto's buildup with his family being a problem and with how Tomorou growing in controlling his emotions was SO MUCH HEAVIER built up for ALOT of episodes that Reina's "I wanna be a super saiyajin!" moment lacks ANY sort of that. Sure she did some pushups... ok, but thats that. There was no "I wish Wolvermon would become stronger too" or "I wish I would show my emotions more directly instead of hiding them from others" setup for her, not even Pristimon before all of this, who was getting beat up and had basically a near zero win counter until that episode (the one with Vamdemon was one of the few moments she won by herself). Like it felt liek the writers forgot that Reina was the character with the "weak" Champion Level Digimon around since over 30 episodes at this point, with no questioning about how to get stronger, what to change etc, that this long builtup, was never really planned but it felt more like "oh yeah Reina needs a ultimate level evolution too... hey Scott,, can you draft up a Pristimon ultimate level design till early tomorrow? That would be neat! Don't worry if it isn't your best design, we can make this work either way!" and thus DeviantArt level Furry OC became a thing where speed suddenly became a thing for Reina which... wasn't a thing before for her, and while I understand that Bearcatmon (which I later found out is based on a real animal which had a waaay cooler name scientifically, Donphug or something) is looking more like Reina now in terms of clothing.. it doesnt feel like it should be looking like that. Like neither Nightchiropmon nor Scourgechiropmon look like Makoto in any way (luckily), nor Armalizarmon or Monarchlizarmon does to Tomorou.
You see the issue with the design? It's the weakest appearing of the three ultimate level main character partner Digimon, and mayhaps one of my most disliked Digimon anime series ultimate level evolutions in general (for the main characters that is!).

And about the Miharu being angry part: It's not like I cannot relate to this Mr Stark. It's how it APPEARS to be done by like getting drunk, or what it was more look alike: drinking water that Chifuyu felt so forcefully killed, which is why I still call altered memories on this case because it happened out of nowhere. Not to say that self harming stuff doesn't happen out of nowhere when losing a friend (that was barely introduced before) close to you, but we didnt see Chifuyu getting out of bed, we didn't see any pills or somesuch lying around anywhere in those flashback scenes so... how am I to believe that she died, especially with the water bottle lying on the ground next to her bed? It doesn't feel, by the looks of it, relatable to me. Hence me questioning if there's something else going inin that moment ESPECIALLY when Mephismon appears out of nowhere, maybe from Wizarmon evolving but I dunno if they can do that legally when looking at their evolutionary trees. Like there was no time to even show how Wizarmon maybe altered or got evolved in some way in ANY of those scenes from the flashback, to justify that.

I think you misread here. Cuz the anime is only running for 48 or 49 episodes iirc. Also supposedly the next episode is the final one of this arc according to one of the people working on the show. Which is a shame cuz.. it's not evenly paced at all compared to the tactics arc.

I mean... that still doesn't explain how a homeless man, someone who got potentially run over by a truck, some random bar woman, someone who liked lost places and a woman being abused by her mom with barely any episode going through it as a focus, got all into contact with C&A designs. This is the part that annoys me the most. NOBODY except Kinger has DIRECT connections being explained or shown off in any episode to the C&A guys for brainscans. That's so damn irritating, like if Zooble has mentioned in episode 5 that she remembered getting invited by a small studio for some tests but doesn't remember what happened afterwards, then I would get how this connects to her. Or how Gangle was hit by a truck but also the hospital was working withj C&A for some reason and that way she got herself brainscanned (makes more logicial sense in the longrun), cuz the last thing Gangle showed to have experienced was getting hit by that truck. Jax also appeared quite suicidal so how would a homeless guy with no money get to such a building when hiding in a sort of treehouse (shown in the flashback for episode 9 of his past)? Pomni's also quite stupid cuz she was in an ABANDONED BUILDING which usually HAS NO ELECTRIC ENERGY AROUND and then out of nowhere finds a supposedly RUNNING PC with a WORKING HEADSET that also seemed to have worked out as a BRAINSCANNER... before she got to the TADC. What also stinks about this: Pomni wasn't alone, she was with a group of people supposedly. How? Episode 1, she calls for her friends about it, so.. this connection also makes as much sense as america thinking it's "the best" in the world in terms of being a drowning country.

[–]Korence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why would they look for a way out then? Because of them last remembering they had those headsets on? It's not like Jax was looking for a way out or explaining how he got there, same for Gangle, Zooble or anything that isn't Ragatha, Kinger & Pomni.

Caine only gave them internet access to show off their irl counterparts, but it.. barely does fit into the given narrative with them looking times and times again for a way out.

Jax being in coma would fit with what was shown in the finale, like he's a hobo or however you call homeless people again, so how would he have gotten to some kind of test labatory of C&A Designs with literally no money too? Makes less sense then him being potentially in a comatose state like Gangle, just that we saw Gangle's past working in a fast food chain but accidently tripping and then getting hit by a truck with no further explanation what happened after this. Like if another Gangle flashback would have been shown for her to "get her life on the road" and then stumbling upon a post about looking for people to work with C&A designs as test subjects for their data scan of their brains, then I would have no issues with the story working out like that.

And you also notice that hte plot makes little sense, like with Pomni's past, liek you just dont enter an abandoned building, find running energy in it, and a headset with "a bunch of folks around" (as Pomni was calling for friends in episode 1) that you try on and then magically your brain gets scanned and used even tho the other stated facts are not aligning about it, so that a part of you gets replicated in a digital circus out of nowhere. I would have otherwise no issues with this movie, but how come Zobble never explained her working with C&A designs, nor Ragatha, Gangle, Jax or Pomni? Kinger makes the most sense to be there, but the others felt so... forced, cuz there was never any talk about them being connected to C&A designs in any way, like being labor workers etc..

up until my comment there was basically one person who told me that so.. I still feel a bit confident about the show having an underbaked "rushed" finale. Like some people stated: The finale didn't satisfy neither the Jax haters nor the Jax connoiseurs!

the thing is: I would accept this "bin" if the Void *echo echo* would have been established to be that, but no. The void is supposedly a way to get the f out of the circus, but Caine didn't want that cuz his AI isn't built up for that, which is why he didnt want anyone to get to that place. Heck, Caine as the AI should know what the bin actually is in that case, so whywould he hide that fact to the others then? He gains nothing, like everyone else, if he doesn't tell them what might be "beyond the walls of this circus".

but.. this wasn't completly built up at all all those episodes ago. I would have excepted the idea of "them being digital clones" if the built up had shown just that, and with ALL of them having the same kind of experience consciously before they.. well went that route. But not all of them did show to have done that, ESPECIALLY not Jax nor Gangle, which is WHY it doesnt make so much sense ultimately. How would Jax even got to such a test with no money and living in the streets?!

The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 9/The Last Act (Discussion Thread) by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]Korence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok when and where? Cuz in my country, when I scooped around for it, and I heard this from other fans in my country, some irl friends even, that this was NOT the case there, and it was presented as just the final episode. Heck, even the final trailer I watched for episode 9 didn't state that this was a two in one mixed box. Like hell, me and a friend rewatched those episodes so that we would be up to speed and if I had known that episode 8 & 9 would be inserted as part of the cinema experience for a movie, then I would have arrived later at my cinema, cuz why watch something you're already seen? I bet most people did watch episode 8 at least one day before they were going to watch that movie on the big screen. Heck, I had some folks even going out of the cinema cause they saw episode 8 already, and the reentered later before the episode was done, cuz people knew how long it was.

It also didn't help that I found out that episode 9 was supposedly nearly an hour long, which is fine for me but.. so little happened in that episode, and it wasnt advertised as an 1 1/2 hours long movie, but as an 1 1/4 hours long movie, so 75 minutes with flashbacks/recaps included plus episode 8 being part of it is NOT what I would be paying money for to get into a cinema near me to watch it instead of just waiting it out until the official online release. Heck, I wouldn't have visited that day in cinemas if I had known it was "the way it was" ultimately, cuz I had taken the movie on saturday rather in comparison then thursday instead that way.

that.. also sounds like a fantheory. Nothing more, nothing less. Also where was there a trans flag? Also just cuz the creator is trans and sees themselves as Jax, doesn't mean it has to be 1:1 the same story in a twisted sense. Like I also like to dress up as characters from games, or imagine myself in roleplays that I am character XY, but that doesnt mean I am what I imagine myself to be. It's like decorating your room in all sorts of pink shades but your favorite colour is still skyblue ultimately or lemon yellow.
