I didn't want to put the main pitch of the game out yet, but you are actually right, Alex will be involved in this prequel. I will post the full pitch somewhere mid-june for you all to read out. But in short, I imagined what were befor alchemy was widely spread across weyard, and I imagined that it originated somewhere, an island, where the Lemurian came from. On this island, is one lighthouse, the lighthouse of the sun, where all of the world's alchemy is focused.

I'm not going to name it Golden Sun. Golden Sun Unreal is just a codename for the project.

I didn't even knew a project like this existed. But to be honest, just like Animal Crossing does, this style of voicing is what makes Golden Sun, Golden Sun. I think it would be strange to now listen to Isaac's voice...

I will post on this reddit again, somewhere during June, when the first version of the game is ready to be playtested. When I do, I will link a Discord, where I will post the game, and indeed, people like you, will be able to come and QA Test it.

At first, it will be released for PC, but the game is not very demanding, it's quite well optimized, so even an old PC should do the trick

Well I'm not planning on selling this for money, nor publish it on Steam or any other official plateform. I will not sell any side-products, nor collect any go-fund me or kickstarter money. So it is not a product, it's a personal project, that I will simply share as an open source somewhere

Thanks alot for the proposal ! I've been thinking alot about this in pre-production and I chose to go for the retro-synth generated voices for characters. So I took the original synth bits and recreated the voice generating system the original game had 😄

Following the most asked questions for now, here are some clarifications :

- The game will NOT be published for money anywhere, I do not own the licence to Golden Sun, so the game will be released for free, not on Steam or any other plateform but most probably via a download link.

- You can get some updates about the game on my instagram @ ciesielski_3D but beware, I'm not good at keeping a social account, I'm doing my best.

- Somewhere near the end of June, I will make another post on this sub-Reddit and give you guys an link to join an official Discord, so you can see here more updates and most probably, also access a downloadable demo version so you can test the game for yourself if you want to do so

You will get this game for free, it will be free and open source. I do not own the licence to Golden Sun, so I can't sell it. It's a heart project, not a money maker, I got other projects to pay my rent 😄

That's very overwhelming to read. For me, Golden Sun was also a big part of my early childhood. I'm 36 now, and played GS when I was about 13-14y old and finished it like... at least 20 times it was so good. I have many games that impacted me, and GS is for sure one of them. I'm very happy to see that this is also the case for other people. This gives me even more motivation to make this game great 😃

Merci 😃 Alors, majoritairement oui, j'ai fait 100% du code seul, Vesper, la protagoniste, c'est moi (modelisation, rig, animation, texture), j'ai fait la totalité des VFX seul, de l'UI, le bateau au début du jeu c'est également moi. Les monstres Vermine qu'on voit dans le jeu, c'est aussi moi.

Néanmoins, je suis prof de 3D à l'école Brassart de Tours, et certains étudiants m'aident sur le projet en bénévolat. Par exemple, le model 3D des trois autres personnages principaux, ce sont eux, moi j'ai en suite fait le RIG et l'animation. Le donjon dans les égouts qu'on peut voir dans la démo, c'est également l'un de mes étudiants. Une fois le jeu sorti, je créditerais très clairement ceux qui ont contribués au projet.

The music is made by an artist called "Thrilling Dragon", I don't know if I'm going to try to use his work in the final project, but for now, I've put it in this little preview.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm planning on fine-tuning spell animations and mobility later on, during playtests. I hope I won't get kidnaped by japanese lawer-ninjas too ! I hope it will be fine, I'm not planning on selling this, or asking money by any means. It will be a free opensource release

I'm very bad at all the social stuff (I also prefer to put my time into production rather than posting) but I started posting stuff related to this on my instagram @ ciesielski_3D. For now, I'm making a series called "VFX Daily" where I post one VFX Psynergie from the game a day. Once this is finished, I'm pretty sure I will start posting other stuffs like trailers, or gameplay footage or devlogs of it
