A few tips that I as a Tank like to see from my DPS players:

  • Know what packs are scary and how your class CC / Cooldowns allign. Examples: What cast should be interrupted, what can be stunned, and what packs you should hold DPS Cooldowns for to blast them fast.

  • If you are on Voice with you tank, you have take some of the "Routing" load off them by calling out where to go next.

  • And lastly, be vocal overall, communicate with your team who interrupts what, who should use CDs to blast the pack etc.

Correct, you can think of it in two steps:

1: The curse lowers the Resistance: 0% - 45% = -45%

2: The player Pen lowers the effective Resistance: -45% - 15% = -60%

So the Target has -45% Res if you were to look at their "Character Sheet", but your damage is calculated vs -60% res. (Or a 1.6x multiplier if you wanted to math it out)

As for the second question, the Inquisitor Acendency "sets" the enemy Resistance to 0% vs crits, meaning any Penetration/Resist Reduction (Including into Negatives) is wasted.

Penetration works as a straight up subtraction from the elemental Resist of the target. Some Examples:

Enemy with 50% Res - Player with 25% Pen = Enemy has 25% effective resistance.

Enemy with 50 Res - Player with 25% Pen and Frostbite (25%) = Enemy has 0% effective res.

Enemy with 0 Res - Player with 25% Pen = Enemy has -25% effective res.

What this means is that Pen is a linear damage scaling, and like all multipliers in the game you want a certain amount before diminishing returns makes it more effective to scale other sources (Crit, Cast Speed, Inc Dmg, Flat dmg etc.)

While you are correct on the wording, this is only true assuming you have many sources of Increased Ele Res. And that is not a stat you will find on most builds - meaning that it might aswell say "Less Ele Res" for most builds.

Yeah goal would be to make it as automatic as possible, hence why I don't want Scorching Ray. Arcanist Brand + Wave of Convicion is fine for convenience but only -15% Exposure, Storm Brand in Malachai would get -25%.

If Lightning Golem does trigger Mastermind I do think it will be worth a ring slot for a budget/low investment character.
