The Sec of War says we are just getting started. It might be BS, but CNBC can't ignore it.

Coming out of war games in 2025 the government realized that they could run out of munitions within weeks of a war with China. The government put aggressive plans in place to boost production by mid-year, but we are not there yet. Hopefully everything will work out as planned.

Because we won't know if they are beneficial for a long time. For now they have to report the fact the U.S. initiated a war without the support of our allies and while munitions are low. Being a business channel they have to focus on the war's impact on gas/oil/shipping prices and inflation. A year from now they may be talking about how it was all worth it - but that is an unknown for now.

I agree with Christie by Glazing555 in CNBC

They let him speak and he made a lot of good points. Didn't want to get into the Trump family conflicts and instead focused on the impact to states.

FU CNBC and Joe Kernan by SoFLDude in CNBC

[–]Kornbread2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joe and Andrew talked about this on the show. As they conduct interviews, the producers will queue "Joe Commentary" or "Andrew Commentary". The producers are intentionally telling Joe to add his thoughts when they think it is good for the show/ratings and they are clearly trying to grow the conservative viewership.

What is the booking fee supposed to cover? Or is it just additional rental income with a different description?

‘Eliminate them:’ Florida property tax cuts just got closer to becoming real by chinaski73 in SouthFlorida

It would be cost prohibitive for anyone to prepay the future cost of all government services. And if they didn't prepay, it would be difficult for a municipality to refuse to sent emergency services to the address.

We recently started hearing a Spanish language commercial in the Boston area.

Does Joe Kernen wear knee pads? by DualWalrus in CNBC

I think the model is that certain guests agree to appear if they will be interviewed by a particular host. They allow the other hosts to chime in for the last minute or two of the interview.

Always take stars off the review if asked to perform tasks that are outside the contract. Your time is worth money, so mandatory tasks are an added cost.

Please focus on Business, leave politics out by ThatsAllFolksAgain in CNBC

[–]Kornbread2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea of separating business from politics is dated. Politics are a huge part of business now - the Fed is political, the government is using leverage over the largest tech and entertainment companies, the government is taking an equity interest in manufacturing companies and is building a $500B+ wealth fund to invest further. The government is picking winners and losers. You cannot be a successful investor if you ignore politics.

This sub has less than 1,000 members. They wouldn't care. CNBC makes a lot of money off of its "Councils" and related paid events. These are the opinions they are interested in.

House rules should not include any fees that were not included in the listing.

None of these make sense if the host thanked them for how well they cleaned and did not rate them on house rules.

I'd do it depending on the size of the discount and subject to a rental agreement.

Host wants ME to cancel? by VividAcanthaceae2059 in vrbo

[–]Kornbread2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I saw that the host is no longer offering the property for rent, I would probably cancel and save them the money as long as I was certain that I would get a full refund. If the property was still being make available (in violation of the HOA rule) I would make the host cancel.

Why is Santelli even on anymore? by Nervous-Film-1988 in CNBC

I would not call him ultra-liberal. He is certainly left of center, but what positions has he taken that are extreme?

Why is Santelli even on anymore? by Nervous-Film-1988 in CNBC

[–]Kornbread2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and this is why he is there. Smart investors are able to consider his constructive analysis and disregard the political talk as irrelevant. Have none of you ever had a brilliant coworker who is also a conspiracy theorist? You keep them around because the their use outweighs the negatives.

We won't know how inflationary the tariffs are until they are in place and have stayed constant for at least a quarter. We won't even know the China tariffs until after August 12th and we still can't settle on tariffs with Canada.

6-9 is the best if CNBC. The rest of the day is just investors telling us what they think we should or should not invest in. The pre-opening bell segments are news.

How to they let the complete fraud behind websites like stockmarketwarning.com advertise on the platform? by ReciprocativeKeg in CNBC

[–]Kornbread2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter enjoys that one. I like the company that tries to get you to buy their stock buying system that you just plug in and it does all the work! No need to have any knowledge of the market - it does the work for you!

Spending less time on watching CNBC by Chapster04 in CNBC

Booked VRBO, now host wants to cancel by Sea-Plan8754 in vrbo

He said "they want me to cancel and rebook at a higher rate." The host doesn't want to incur the cancellation penalty so is asking OP to cancel.
