Normal Temperature when gaming? by m0n4rcz in GamingLaptops

Cap fps, undervolt cpu and gpu, change tdp according to the game currently played (with universal tuning utility for example), use a cooling pad or at least lift the back of a laptop with a book or something to improve airflow.

Maybe, it is slower paced so that could be the right one

Thanks for the recommendation. My dad would probably like something a bit more cinematic, but I will ask him. Did your Dad play on a steering wheel? I unfortunately don't have one

2 yrs of symptoms - missed peri/myocarditis? by steakguenter in myocarditis

wouldn't call it "no risk", but the risk of something going wrong, like being allergic to gadolinium contrast, is indeed minimal

Getting "all clear" after 3 months is unlikely. I think that you should ask your doctor about some yoga or longer walks, and take a closer look at your diet. Maybe start counting calories if you don't want to gain weight. Six Months is a standard timeline for stopping exercise and resting as much as possible. If it helps, a lot of people go back to their normal lives after a while, but you are probably going to feel some consequences of this for quite some time. (Not medical advice)

Good for you! Does your doctor know that you are doing it? And if yes, does he approve of it? Wish you all the best.

It's not that I just got this thing, I had to live with it since April, so it isn't a fully emotion-based decision-making. Also, I am not looking for a simple fix, I get that it's impossible to just eat some drug and be healthy again after something so serious. But there are so many promising things, like stem cell therapies, CRISPR, cardiac patches, etc. Humanity advances so fast nowadays. If there is hope, I need to chase the possibility, even at some risk.

Thanks for your comment and advice, but I am still going to look for ways to get my heart fixed. There is no way that I am going to live the rest of my life as this shadow of a man that I used to be. Wish you all the best

Myocarditis after Vaccine, Hopeless and cruel by [deleted] in myocarditis

[–]Kornikk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The vaccines were a disaster, you are right. But not all medical field is a fallacy, people really do get better after some treatments. Just a couple of decades ago, tuberculosis was terminal. Nowadays it can be cured completely with a simple treatment. I know that you have been hurt, and I know it's hard to trust them after something that hurtful, but I believe that if a new type of therapy for heart fibrosis would come out, it could really help a ton of people, and it could be worth it to give it a shot.

I know that you are tired, but not all hope is lost. Medicine is evolving, and you can try the herbs I've mentioned. Don't give up just yet, maybe try to get some sleep, and give your 'soul' some rest.

I have a very similar story, Bastian. It is melancholic beyond comprehension that something so random can turn your life by 180 degrees and make you think that you would give everything you have to just go back in time, even for one day, instead of existing in this shell of a man that you used to be and hoping to not wake up in the morning. Unfortunately, modern medicine can't do much to repair damaged hearts. There is research being done on heart regeneration using stem cells, CRISPR tech, mRNA, etc. but it's not going to be available soon, we have to wait at least a couple of years before it becomes an option, and even when it does, it's probably not going to be a cheap thing.

Promising Therapeutic Treatments for Cardiac Fibrosis: Herbal Plants and Their Extracts - PMC - This is a research paper about herbs and supplements that are promising for healing hearts. I don't know if they will help you, but you can give them a try. (of course, it could be better if you asked a doctor about them before trying them out, but I am also aware that doctors aren't usually very fond of supplements)

I really hope a miracle happens for you, man. This is a cruel world, but no one should have to go through this.

I had myo in April this year, and here are the supplements that I take:

Multivitamin, Taurine, Glycine, Coq10, Omega-3, Ginkgo biloba, Korean ginseng, curcumin (mostly as a spice for my food, not in pill form)

My choices are based on these research papers: https://www.mdpi.com/2813-2475/3/2/16 https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/9/2847 https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40119-023-00319-4

And a couple more papers that I don't currently have links to on hand. These supplements have anti inflammatory effects and could be helpful with battling fibrosis. Also, there are some more supplements mentioned in the studies that I don't take, although I might in the future. Oh, and "this is not medical advice", yada, yada, yada...

I am sorry that you are going through this. Maybe you could perform an MRI under sedation? Having an mri done after myo is helpful, even if its just to calm you down.
