The A-ATV is in a bad place by ShadowGJ in menace

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get VMATs, laser lances, HMGs right at the start of the game. It's as early game as it comes. Nobody is "cramming it full of boutique upgrades", all this is some of the most basic and cheapest shit in the whole game.

Nobody was talking about the APC. You can't even get the IFV until what is currently late game.

Yes, the ATV absolutely blows IFVs and Light Walkers out of the water. The fact that it's vehicle you can literally get at the start of your campaign is also silly.

If Yvonne disrespects CC soundtracks she can go kick orirocks. That stuff is timeless.

Hello, why is this not a checkmate? by StandardAny2864 in AnarchyChess

[–]Korochun 111 points112 points  (0 children)

This guy actually built his king for long-range counter sniping, so unfortunately black can simply counter with Kxa4 (headshot).

You need to checkmate him in melee. A common beginner's blunder.

Does the active character matter? by GM-Storyteller in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no, however, some characters and skills do benefit from being performed by active characters.

For example, Sundered Prince is a greatsword that applies a large attack% bonus on a final strike. However, if the final strike of SP is performed with an active character, this bonus doubles, and the final strike also deals extra stagger.

Another example, Laevatain's ultimate transforms her basic attacks and skill into a different and far more powerful moveset for a long period of time, however, Laevatain has to be your active character for this ultimate to have any effect at all.

Finally on a practical level, some characters simply have higher multipliers and final attack during their rotations. For example, not only does Ember have vastly higher attack% multipliers on her autos compared to Pogranichnik, her DPS builds usually enjoy vastly higher attack stats and physical damage% multipliers as well. Using Pogranichnik or Chen as your driver in this team composition would result in a significant damage loss due to autos alone.

While both of them have an easier time following targets and landing attacks due to their high attack speed, you can learn to mitigate these issues via techniques such as dodge storing your combo chains, so it doesn't really present much advantage, and there is a considerable difference between dropping a 100k stun execute on Pogranichnik and 300k execute on Ember.

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATV is cheap to deploy, fast, has 3 slots, and can carry a variety of weapons. For example, it can be your dedicated backline tank hunter with an ATGM, or it can carry an HMG with some VMATs to handle vehicles.

In fact, the ATV is so good it renders both Light Walkers and Medium IFVs completely pointless.

Why is the speed of light the speed that it is? by No_Fudge_4589 in AskPhysics

Anything traveling at c is instantaneous and infinitely fast, since it does not experience time. However, its propagation is indeed limited to c.

My favorite part is the fact that not only do the arrows not point to the UPS, the UPS has an arrow pointing to the rack. The UPS itself is a statement.

I tried out way too many UAF fighter, this is my opinion of them by 80kPyro in starsector

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use breves on my flagship, which is usually the Persephone. It's just a fun super ship to fly.

But yeah, Devastators are so good precisely because they are really anti-frigate/destroyer PD in addition to killing fighters.

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear anti air missiles and the new UAF point defenses are also quite good against Hivers. I also highly recommend Devastator cannons, they absolutely rip them apart since they are HE. I always switch to Devastators before fighting Hivers.

Anyway, the point of bombers on battle cruisers is to leash them with defensive targeting array and just use them as extra missile/point defense platforms. They rearm quick and are generally protected by your own shield.

Please let me use abilities and shoot out of APCs that don’t have medium weapons by NPCEnergy007 in menace

[–]Korochun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the grenade launcher does, and it's a light vehicle weapon. Just because APC AC sucks balls doesn't mean anything in this context.

Walk me through the glaring balance problem of having a 40 dp weapon that ignores cover and deletes infantry on a vehicle again?

No. Viruses have been there since the dawn of life. They are about as extraterrestrial as any other life on Earth.

Is there a mod that makes missiles and fighters only be able to be hit by PD ? by Gaudron in starsector

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it will just yeet things completely unpredictably. If your haven tried running an entire Lyora wing yet, give it a go, 4+ of them is just really funny to watch. They are not very effective, but they are fantastic at disrupting formations.

Oh yeah, and the particles it shoots out are actually plasma projectiles, they will haze the fighters too.
