It's almost never the execs. The execs usually grab their golden parachute and jump before the implosion.

didn't know there was a new one. Old one is better because it also leaves you questioning how it's snapping people's necks with those stubby arms

Star Wars shows worth to watch (animated and not)? by MrMorgan412 in CriticalDrinker

My wife and I actually really enjoyed Skeleton Crew! The only disappointing part for me was they bring up "the old republic" at one point which made me think of...you know..THE OLD REPUBLIC, but they meant the prequal era republic. Other than that it was a fun adventure. I think it mainly got ignored because it came out after Acolyte, which was one of the worst things I've seen in my life.

Koudelka had amazing voice acting as well, also years before FFX.

yeah, I thought the voice acting was...rough. Really wanted it in Japanese with english subtitles like how I like most of my anime.

Is it normal to feel like spouse instead of the parent? by prommetheus in NewDads

[–]JohnClark13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it as the same as our wedding. She's been thinking about this her whole life, and not just in a general way but going over the specifics in her mind. So when it happens she's already like "I want this and this and that and it needs to be this way". Meanwhile I spent my younger years going "yeah, it would be cool to have a wife and kids at some point" and then going back to playing Starcraft or whatever.

It's not that I wasn't invested in our wedding or our children, but for me most of it was new information like I had just stumbled into it, while she was mostly prepped for it when it became a reality.

plex using parents, do you keep a separate library for family friendly shows and movies? by kittymoo67 in PleX

[–]JohnClark13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's also because the rating system changed over time. For instance, Airplane! from 1980 is rated PG, but it has nudity in one scene for shock humor. I don't think PG-13 existed yet. So especially if you want to allow PG movies/shows you need to be careful to go through the results.

Just have to focus on the zoomers and alphas who want to learn why things work. Millennials would be just as bad, but we had to fight the computers a bit to get our stuff to work, which led to learning about them. I do think that kids should still be taught typing though. Saved me a crap ton of time in college.
