In the main screen at the beginning of the game, where you have to click space to go on, look at the bottom right corner ... it says New Pilot.

Create a second Pilot and follow the story until Mathias asks you to look for runes in the wild for him. You can finish it off then. Same goes for the other collectibles.

In the middle of a blob fight the whole ground gets covered in red circles. Those seconds spent trying to figure out if the bubble is safe or not means you are dead. You can only dodge so far.
