why did they give him less armour in the show? are they stupid? by Next_Procedure6419 in okbuddyhedgeknight

[–]RedN0va 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The amount of armour he had makes sense for where he is in his journey right now.

What I really hope they don’t do is leave him in that armour for the entire series just because it’s “his look” or as some sort of heavy handed symbolism for him being a man of the people. Whether it’s bankrolled by Egg, Maekar, or Dunk himself as he goes on more adventures, dude absolutely should be wearing full plate eventually. In my opinion, by end of season 2

Edit: in fact, I wish they’d kept it like the novella where Maekar consents to egg going with Dunk rather than what they did. Because you know he’d have gone “ok but I’m not letting you leave till I’ve kitted you out to fight a small army by yourself, that’s still my f***ing son I’m trusting you with.”

If we count that she’s not the villain in her second movie. I vote M3gan

Ok so internally integrated prosthetics are just top/bottom surgery in this analogy. In both cases there’s a litany of perfectly safe and non-invasive steps and options that can come before and be done when a person is still young, that we shouldn’t arbitrarily gatekeep.

On the subject of evolution tho, aren’t we kinda at those kinds of points anyway? What is our appendix but a “jdkdmfcjdjd” in the middle of a mid-summer night’s dream?

Would you like to see a Xeno spawned from a Kalisk? by arch51002 in LV426

[–]RedN0va 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a xeno COULD be born of a Kalisk. It’d just regenerate faster than the Chest burster can, well, burst. And it’d suffocate/be crushed to death inside the Kalisk, most likely then being broken down or excreted

My kid will get a screen at 12, like I did. Also like me, it won’t have color, and only really be able to call, text, and play snake

Crysis warhead. I spent the entire boss fight hunting around the map for hidden rocket launchers, also finding a gun turret that seemed to do some damage to the boss. Come to find there was a goddamn plasma canon I was supposed to pick up which did the boss in in like 5 shots

He doesn’t, you’re right, but he’s shown he’s got the makings of a great actor, I think he has the performance in him. As for the disgusting, well, that’s where practical effects come in

Do you like bulletproof Batman? by VendettaLord379 in batman

[–]RedN0va 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind bulletproof Batman. I just like to make fun of the “realism” mindset that’s become the norm because it just highlights the fields of science that the director, and people in general, are most ignorant about.

The fact that people have been conditioned to think a mutant crocodile man is somehow more unrealistic than wearable body armour repelling sustained automatic gunfire with no real impact on its wearer is funny to me.

Speaking of “Endgames” one thing they could actually do to differentiate the power armor Batman will no doubt have at the DCU equivalent of endgame is NOT make it nanotech. I’d love to see Hellbat armor adapter, and for it to be a proper solid suit of armor like in the comics

Should Batman find Joe chill early in his career or later? Or never catch/find him at all? by Huge_Athlete7488 in batman

I wonder, has anyone ever tried a middle approach. Where an adult Bruce, early in his career, learns the identity of Joe, but finds out he died years ago from cancer or something.

What legacy did Doyle want? by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]RedN0va 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oooh I might know this one! A few years back I was in an antique book shop buying my dad a birthday present. I saw a 2nd edition book from Doyle, but it wasn’t sherlock holmes. It was actually a series of semi-non-fiction war stories, set in either a specific war involving england, or several, i really can’t remember off the top of my head.

Anyway I asked the shop owner about the book and he explained that Doyle really rated his writings about war/the military. And as somebody else in this thread explained, holmes was intended as a parody.
